One Piece - Chapter 772 [manga]
Welcome to the weekly manga discussion thread for One Piece.
Thread Guidelines
Happy holidays, guys! Here's a little spoiler summary, courtesy of AP's Redon! -Chapter title is "Cabbage & Lomeo". The ministory features the appearance of Wadatsumi (that fish-giant guy from the mermaid island arc, remember). -Kyros and Rebecca are still facing Diamante. Meanwhile, Gladius uses his ability to blow up the ground, then goes after Robin. However, Bartolomeo protects her (apparently, he's set on fire from Gladius' attack). -Dellinger defeats Ideo by charging at him with his teeth (kinda like Arlong/Hody). Apparently, Dellinger attempts to back up Gladius, but he gets intercepted by Cavendish (now in his "Hakuba" mode) and defeats the half-fish boy with with a single strike.... That was an incredibly fun chapter for me...every time Barty is on screen I consider it a win (since I really cannot stop laughing). Not to mention the fantastic synergy between Cabbage and Barty xD

Huh, this chapter felt a bit short. But then again, most of the action-centric chapters feel that way to me, heh.
Cavendish and Barto make an interesting team, though. Also, big lol at Barto wanting to be Robin's slave! Edit: Actually, seeing Dellinger bite Ideo got me thinking: Why doesn't Bart put his fangs to similar use? I mean, he's even known as the "cannibal", is he not? I'd think its easy to assume that their would be a difference in jaw strength. Dellinger is half-fishman and what we know from arlong is that carnivorous fishmen have very powerful jaws. Barto might have sharp teeth but he's still human.

finally more and more executives are beaten...
Robin's wink = power-up to every man hearing word about not letting Rebecca holds sword anymore indicates there is no way Rebecca would join the crew She would succeed the throne and become like Vivi.. sigh.. well, I'm not complaining if Barrier-dude joined though |

dellinger is easily one of the creepiest characters ever for me. i'm also surprised gladius made it through the chapter. i assumed both would get beat by cabbage on the last page |

Chapter 772
That was a good chapter. I would say Rebecca should join her dad and help if she can keep herself from being a liability. Cavendish’s should have two bounties. He himself is worth 280,000,000 and Hakuba should be worth at least 500,000,000. That would be heck of a catch two bounties in one. Bartolomeo should be on guard because Hakuba is in control and anyone is game when he is around. That would be cool if Hakuba(not Cavendish) went after Zoro. Poor Dillenger he had strong momentum in couple of chapters then lost it all at the end of this chapter. Gladius should run has fast has he can. |

Honestly, I'm not really surprised that Gladius is still standing at this point. He's proved himself to be one of the most formidable and dangerous of Dofla's "lower" officers, after all. He was strong enough to withstand an attack from Luffy earlier, and he's quite skilled at setting up explosive traps for his opponents (as evidenced by his making the ground explode this chapter). I'd say he could actually give Hakuba-mode Cavendish a good run for his money, at least as long as Bartolomeo doesn't involve himself in the fight (but they're technically taking him on together, so.....). |

Depending on how this goes and how long Hakuba lasts the fight might be Gladius and Bartolomeo vs. Hakuba. Personally I don't think Gladius and Bartolomeo combined could beat him. If this is Hakuba vs. Gladius then my bet is on Hakuba. |

i really hope rebecca winds up defeating diamante. it's pretty insulting that she trained for so long to become a great fighter and now her father is telling her to basically stay in the kitchen. i'm hoping kyros eats those words and reconsiders tying an apron around her waist

But yeah, let's just say not wanting her to fight in brutal battles against monsters means not letting her do anything. Seems like a pretty common "I don't want my kid to live the life I have" kind of thing. It'd be nice if Rebecca could play a role in beating Diamante, but who knows. She's done well, but that guy is on another level. She's struggled against weaker opponents. Might as well leave this one to the famous monster of the arena.
