Or people are completely forgetting that we still have at least two years to go within the story.

Really, I hate it when readers completely miss the point of the premise and complain about supposed dragging.

heh sumeragi we remember that completely but the problem is nothing is happening just because we have 2 years left doesn't mean that we cant make things interesting

because the main story itself hasn't moved.
What we do know.
1. We have a chitoge-Raku-Onodera Love triangle.
2. We know that while Raku doesn't hate chitoge he doesn't like her as much as onodera.
3. We know that he still reacts far more to onodera then chitoge.
4. Marika who could've made things really interesting is turning out to be a red herring.
5. There is a promise girl who the pendant works for and that will change the story completely

What we don't know:
1. If Raku was forced to choose between onodera and chitoge who would he choose.
2. Who the promise girl is and how that knowledge will affect the story.
3. What would happen if the truth is exposed to claude or any of the gang.

The things we know we've known for about 30 chapters or so and the things that are needed for the story to move forward are the last 3 in other words for the last 30 chapters the only things that we've added are pointless to the main story bc we've added tsugumi and haru to raku's harem but sadly neither of them can act on the feelings they have. Tsugumi bc of chitoge and haru bc of the fact that she wont believe the truth aka boring.

As long as Nisekoi continues to deliver entertaining chapters I'm ok with the status quo for a while because that is what is to be expected from a harem series.

there was actually a very interesting development regarding the eyeglass boy's one-sided love for his teacher not including the main plot

it would be interesting that would be the romantic development between the eyeglass boy and the eyeglass girl. (can't believe I keep forgetting their names tsk)

I think the story is expanding in the sense of exploring each main cast's family and/or (best) friends. Here the list so far:

- Chitoge's mother
- Onodera's sister Haru
- Tsugumi's frienemies Paulla
- Raku's best friend Shu

Maybe, the next one will be Marika's bodyguard Honda.

I actually have the novel the month it was published, which was a few months' back. To be honest, it bored me to tears (that's why I never talked about it), or at least the first chapter really bored me to tears (which also was the longest):

Overall, while there seem to be interesting ideas behind each chapter, they were poorly developed and the writing was drear. The humor level was low and I did not feel any kind of 'excitement' (like you know, when you reading something interesting, you will sometimes have a small silly grin on your face) from the writing. 3/10 is what I'd give, but as a (possibly former if the story doesn't get better) Nisekoi fan, I'll bump it up to 4/10.

But then again, this is not something unexpected, as most Jump novelizations feel boring to me.

The character's responses are what I consider the manga's selling point. Kind of hard to do that in LN format...
