And apparently Tabane's tech is EERILY similar to Forerunner tech from Halo

Don't know if it's applied in the fic, don't read it because of gary stu protagonist. Anyone read "Prototype SPARTAN"?

Didn't read it. I always had that feeling about her tech being overtly superior to the norm like how Forerunners' are to the UNSC.

IS 2 has been translated, yes but not to English, as far as I've seen. I have yet to find n2 in English though...

Not only that, but in terms of mechanism too. well, Tabane didn't have the resources and manpower so her biggatons are still confined to solar system

Carbon copy of Stratos idea, just more... ah, grounded.

First use is by Maya during Gospel arc to manage the berserking harem, the second time it's used by Iori to transport Ichika from Japan to America in 15 minutes (although Vanguard Overboost-expy is the actual reason) and coordinate siege against PT force using shitload of conventional weapon.

So yeah, never once it's used to fight in a LOLDUELSOME situation, a support unit that could, at best, avoid being targeted and render missile useless by literal hax power.

Backpedalling while shooting down missiles with tracking laser pointers. I played too much Armored Core that it just flashed into my mind when I read the description.

As much as I would like to add specialized units, Athena doesn't really have that much room for tactical warfare... or warfare to begin with.

How out of canon is it tht Ichika still does stuff for Houki even though Houki is generally being a brat bout everything. And then it's explained to her that he's just doing good on his end as a friend to accept whatever she's become and to fulfill even the most insane of requests. But when it's Houki's turn she just balls up and turns away and acts like she doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to.

If what he asks is deemed as being 'embarrassing' by her, then yeah, she would do that - initially. After some thought, she might concede to it later, in true tsundere fashion.

Also, I got a question of my own... is it stated anywhere just WHY Chifuyu retired so early? If I recall, it was right after the 2nd tournament and she went to Germany for the year.

Never explixitly stated but I think me and eras surmise that she was banned. She took kurezakura on a vigilante-esque rescue mission of her little brother after all. And maybe she decided to stop because someone might hurt Ichika to keep her from winning Mondo Grosso again.

Let’s find a way down—” Kraa-kaa— distant, muffled rumbling sounds rattle the eerie ambience and the two recoil themselves into stance. Silence immediately sets in but Kirin and Mikoto are still on edge, looking around them while bits of metal and concrete crumble from the ceiling and walls. “Just a minor quake, let’s go.” The trooper double-taps on Kirin’s armored shoulder, nudging her to move ahead. Merely three steps ahead, something crackles through their IS’ comms. “-kzzzt-tzzt-Bastard!—tzzt—-” Albeit very brief, Kirin recognizes the voice. “Minerva…?” Kraa-kaa— bdoom— the same rumbling noise leak through the walls, this time accompanied with the noise of an obvious muffled explosion. “I don’t like the looks of this. We need to hurry, Albrecht.” “No, wait! I’m reading a couple of seismic signal spikes…” “Where?” “Right about…” Kraa-ka-taa— zing—! *KA-BOOM* the wall ahead of them bursts apart with two familiar figures belting out of it; the Minerva and the Kai. “…there—!” Much to their surprise, the Kai is actually pushing the damaged Minerva through the wall and into the courtyard, with both hands clamped on the shoulders while the latter grabs the Kai’s arms as though trying to resist. “Let… me… GO!” Inami screams out through the Minerva’s helmet to the apparent Tsurugi, who’s in the Kai. He crashes his back on concrete rubble, throwing Tsurugi high above him and plants a foot on her abdomen, kicking her off and over him into another wall. *KRAA-KAA—* “Guh…! Kuuuh…!” It was one shock after another for the trooper and the representative candidate, watching as the two powered armors engage in an apparent fight with one another. Tsurugi picks herself back up, boosting herself into Inami and knocking him down just as he was back up on his feet. “Egh!” “Stop this, Ina-kun!” “Kuuh…! How dare you…” Inami gets up, staring at the approaching Kai while bits of concrete crumble from his armor. “You cheated me of my feelings…” “Tch!” Tsurugi dashes head-on towards him. With his frowned eyes, Inami catches sight of the oncoming Kai, sidestepping just as she goes by then grabs her left arm and the top of her chest-plate. “…and now you’re using MY own unit AGAINST ME?” he spins around and throws her back into the open courtyard. “Ina-kun…!” She lands on her feet as her mind tries to register what madness has taken over his emotions. “You shouldn’t have involved yourself in this, Tsu-chan…” He sprints for the Kai, clenching his raised right hand into a firm fist. “Now give me back that unit!” he throws his right fist ahead only to have her dodge and grab his whole right arm with both her hands, spinning her body around while pulling him over her right shoulder. *BAM!* Inami falls hard on his back, his remaining strength diminished by the strong impact against the rough concrete ground. “Kuuuh… Urgh!” Just as he is about to push himself up, Tsurugi presses his left shoulder down then plants a leg atop his fractured chest-plate, whipping out the Magnus from the waist-side magnetic holster and points it right in the middle of his helmet’s visor. “…I’m only borrowing the Kai, okay? We’re here to save you so spare us the rants until we’re done pulling you to safety, get it?” Though defeated, Inami still harbors infernal hatred in his heart. “You… shouldn’t have.” He musters up enough strength on his left arm, placing his hand on hers. “I can’t let you get involved… This is my own—” “SHUT UP!” Tsurugi’s booming voice echoes throughout the area, instantly silencing him and the two IS pilots still looking at them from the hallways. Inami notices the Magnus shaking, her hands are trembling and even with her face behind the cover of the Kai’s helmet, he could tell that she’s beginning to tear up. “You… You’re always like this…” Her voice mixed with sobs, “…thinking that you are responsible for everything… thinking that it’s okay risking your life all alone… thinking that only you have the power to handle this…” “Tsu-” “I’m no longer the little girl I was five years ago, Ina-kun! I have my own strength, my own power to decide things for myself! And right now, I want to save you!” “Why…? Even when you already have someone else…” “That has nothing to do with this, stupid!” “Uuh… Guys?” Kirin calls out to them, directing their attention to a squad of Jabber drones entering the courtyard. Tsurugi turns back to Inami, smiling at him even though he couldn’t see her face. “Wait here.” __________________ "You cannot be bad at watching a movie. She opened her personal dojo to as many as could come, providing food, lodging, and education in the way of the warrior and the path of life. She would not see her people wanting for anything that could make them wiser and happier. While some lords openly questioned that allowing the peasants, especially women, to become educated would lead to instability and revolt, Chifuyu held her belief that her people would understand and see that her rule was fair and just, not just because Heaven decreed, but by virtue of their own deeds as judged by their fellow men and women. From her vantage point atop the dias in the training field, her hawk-like gaze surveyed the girls with a practiced eye. To her right sat her brother, who was stifling a yawn on pain of a sharp blow from his aneue's fan. "There are some promising ones for this tenure, Mistress," Master Sakakki bowed his head low. "You know of my standards, Instructor Sakakki," Chifuyu warned him. "I expect a certain level of skill before I decide which ones shall be chosen to move to the next level." Sakkaki was older than she and had proven his loyalty in the face of torture from her uncle. His skills were top-notch for someone not of strong Orimura blood as was she and her brother but she had determined that he was of sufficient level and skill to teach the beginning and intermediate forms and techniques. "Far be it from me to question your loyalty to my family, Sakkaki-dono. As always, I look forward to your work." "Your praise is wasted upon me, Mistress but I humbly accept!" Her brother scratched absently at his neck. "Well then, shall I test them?" He received an inquisitive look from his sister. "Aneue, I fear that my legs are going to go numb if I don't exercise them soon." "You wish to take on 5 girls for a warm-up? Since when did you acquire such a strange taste?" "Aneue, it's not like that," he could barely control his blush, to which she chuckled. "Fine, Sakkaki!" "Yes!" "Prepare the girls for combat against my brother. Tell them to strike with lethal intent." Sakkaki blinked. "...Lethal intent?" He glanced at the young master Ichika, who was muttering about 'crazy oneesans' before he was silenced by a thrown fan.
