As of now, Issei has more redeeming factors than this guy though.

I mean both of them have the "wouldn't hurt a fly" shtick down, but this guy (I keep forgetting his name) is much more shameless.

Which is amusing. Which, as I said, is the reason I'll keep watching.

I gave this one a try and saw the first 2 eps. The first one got me interested due to the nature of the MC. Then, episode two almost got me stop caring for this series. Maybe it’s not the overall story, but the execution of the 2nd episode is rather lame. That enemy girl is as generic as it can get (If you plan on double crossing someone, surely there’s a lot of better ways than to execute a single little-trap and reveal your evil intention openly to your target afterwards ). Yeah, I know that this is a comedy but still . My take on this is that this one will be a generic ecchi-romance-fantasy ala Zero no Tsukaima sequels and a less serious version of Shakugan no Shana.

I’ll give the 3rd episode a chance, and if that doesn’t pick my interest, I’ll drop this and stay with Yuusha Aesthetica instead.

I was referring to Issei's "attack" that's basically the ability to completely strip girls naked.
One uses his powers in perverted ways and another uses his pervertedness as a source of energy...either way their powers/abilities (some) are based around their perverted nature.

Hey now... you are forgetting the most important differentiating factor here... which ones are pretentious and ignorant cowards... I say Issei@DxD, Ichika@IS qualify... on the other hand, Tarou@MM, Ayumu@KoreZon, and this one are very much self-aware and try not to inconvenience those in their surrounding, while honestly expressing themselves whenever possible.

Superficially, they might appear similar, but on a second read into their behavior and particularly their motivation is quite different... or at least that's the way I see them.

So let me see if I get this straight...the fact that Kaga reminded me of Issei yet it didn't to you shows that I'm inexperienced with anime? How does that make any kind of sense? Are you saying that someone that doesn't share your point of view on something is inexperienced?

Yes, most of things you've said about all 5 characters are correct, yet I wasn't reminded of them when I watched this series, I was reminded of Issei...
To me they are similar, they all share similarities but to me, in my eyes, Kaga resembles Issei in his mannerism and actions.

It's all about view points, I understand how you can't understand my linking of Kaga to Issei much like I can't understand how you cannot see it. So why are we even fighting over this?

As I said in ecchi shows, there are characters that act self-aware of what they are doing, and kids who don't... whether each of us likes or dislikes one or the other, it's a matter of personal taste.

It just didn't have the impact I was expecting. It was fun to pass the time but it didn't keep my attention. If a series manages to keep me watching an episode from start to finish without my attention waning then I find it a good series to follow. What happened with this series was that I started watching episode 2 and about half-way through I was checking my emails and the forum with the show becoming background noise for a bit.
I heard a lot about this series (the manga) and I guess I was expecting it to be something else.
The ecchi is certainly enough for a series...unfortunately for me Lisara's archetype kinda counters the ecchi. Guess I'm the kind of guy that isn't satisfied with ecchi if it comes from a character with a personality that annoys me. This happens in every anime with a MC with her personality though...

I agree with ignorant then...cause he is pretty ignorant of the fact that he has like 7 girls in love with him...
But I don't know about the coward part...the way you explain it, it certainly fits Ichika but Issei, not so much.
