Somehow I don't think Taku is going to fight Kuroyukihime and it's just going to turn into a conversation in the end, but if he is he's obviously going to lose since he's way out of his league and she can't lose otherwise she'd lose all her points and be finished.

10 points for each battle. A level 1 vs level 1 result in 10 points if you win and a level 1 vs level 2 is 20 points and so forth but remember. Every time you use burst link to challenge someone or just use burst link will employ a use of 5 points per use. So it's better if someone challenge you than actually using the command. The anime didn't explain this.

I thought you only used 1 point per burst link. Guess I got it wrong.

It seems to me that since leveling up isn't actually mandatory, The bouncer must have a gazillian points she just has never redeemed for a level up. Wonder if the bouncer has enough to reach level 10

You cannot reach level 10 with points alone. You can't even reach some of the highest levels with points alone, there's some other conditions, some of them are pretty harsh. So even if he has a lot of points, reaching more than lvl 6 or 7 is doubtful

No, you're right, but so is tsunade.

Burst Link cost 1 point, Physical Burst costs 5, Full PB costs 99%.

That's what I was thinking until I saw the preview, which shows 'em at least whack at each other for a bit.

Without going into future spoiler, here's the chart for exp gaining from PvP and points needed for level up (which I'm 400% sure they won't tell you in the anime).
Spoiler for not really spoiler imo, but just in case:

I didn't really want to bring in these information but I just thought this discussion's particularly fascinating I'm not going to say whether it's grindy or not (though I did dump out a necessary hint), but it's something to chew on

what's the different with physical burst? and burst link?

I also thought it's weird because Haru's score was 308. You won't get that score with a point use of 5 and 10 so I was confused. I got the info of 5 points because Taku was using 5 points per battle at kendo matches. But I'm sure on an ordinary burst cost or challenge cost but I think challenge cost you 5 burst point and that's why others just like to wait to be challenge than challenging someone.

We've only seen Burst Link and Full Physical Burst in the anime. Every time you call out Burst Link, you get zoned into that VR world. You can sit there and think or talk like they did. As for Physical Burst, Hime/Taku might be explaining it next episode, so ...

One of the thing I noticed with the system is that while points are constantly being lost from the system via burst linking, they are only added to the system with new players. It takes 227 players' worth of burst points to create one level 9.

一将功成万骨枯, indeed.

The later LNs does cover the points thing with number of points incoming vs points used up (ie, this isn't a plot hole), but since it's a spoiler you'll have to go ask at the Accel World LN thread if you really want to know

Disclaimer: Just saying what is or isn't a plot hole isn't a spoiler by itself. I've revealed no future events not yet shown in the anime in this post, and this statement is about as generic as "there will be more battle scenes in the future" - ie, tells you something but practically nothing at the same time (really, it's about a fighting game, OF COURSE there will be more battles to come )

I think that the biggest loss of points from the system comes from "buying" level ups, rather than initiating burst links.
Then again we are stressing details that don't matter much for the plot so far with this "How do points enter the system" and "Points are being lost from the system"

That pasta really is well designed I definitely would like to try some, served to me by a waitress in a butterfly outfit like Hime-chan (I'm not a pervert, it's just.... a part of the service, right? )

Either that, or she is testing him to see if he deserves to join their 2 person "legion".

Another thing I have noticed. The avatar you get is the embodiment of your fears and despairs. However, it looks like your special ability is what your ideal you strive for in order to succeed. Silver Crow is the ability to fly so that he is above everyone else instead of everyone else looking down on him. Cyan Pile's long distance fighting attack is what he wanted to succeed in Kendo and fight well.

Also, you can usually tell if a character is male or female by looking at the chest design of the Duel avatar. However, in Aqua Current's case, the figure is blurred, so you can't tell if it is a male or female. Oh how they want to screw with our minds.
Interesting. To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to these details, so this is a good little rundown.

Btw, when is cute, cute red twin-tails going to arrive?
Yeah, I'm deeply interested to know this. No I'm not saying I'm into little loli's, but I'm wondering what kind of screentime she'll get. One thing I haven't been paying attention to, is this series more than 20 eps? If so she'll definitely get some screen time in

And as for the question that keeps up popping "why not SAO?" well sao was being handle by different studio and advertising it would do them no good so why not advertise future projects instead of it.

And Issei is no where near in character of badass Mr T. of mahouka. So I see no point in comparing it. Issei is like a pure child of his desire while "him" is matured in lots of ways.
I think that person just mentioned DxD because it was so recent. Seriously, Issei didn't win that last fight on his own, heck I'd say he lost

Sort of a weak fillerish episode, but Kuroyukihime's hairstyle is nice and well... yea, it's not like I watch this show for anything else.

Seeing the comments on this thread, I suddenly had a thought that Accel World is much better as a Fighting Visual Novel that an Action Game.

That's a god awful system. That is one of the worst leveling up systems I have ever seen.

There is another way to get new points which wont be brought up yet. One of the kings is doing quite a bit regarding this

No kidding. This game is tailored made for obsessive PvP grinders. As for me, I would given up around Level 5.

There are 24 episodes, since there will be 8 DVD/BluRays released for the series.

And of course we all know your personal preferences towards "loli's" and "twin-tails".

I'm really excited to see her. Her brief actions in the intro makes her seem like such a happy go lucky character. Her little dance in the kitchen really is cute. It will be really hard to figure out what her "trauma" will be with such a positive attitude.

Btw, I wonder if these girls that our MC will meet will end up joining the legion? I mean, as far as we know, the legion is a 2 person legion. That's... uh... a very small "legion".
