Yes, congratulations to Hinagiku for making it into two top 4s (technically 3rd place in both) in major moe tournaments (Japan and Korea) in the same year. That is a pretty tough feat that only two other characters have done (Suiseiseki and Shana). Hopefully she can advance further next year as season 2 comes along. That's it for moe tournaments for me this year.
Too bad she had to lose, but that's the way it goes. Maybe Japan wanted the Applefield final, and they got it. I just wonder how much the turnout will be. I feel like BAWWWing, but... Hina, you're the SaiMoe to me, and that's what matters in the end. /rant

Unlucky draws = Aria girls. As simple as that.
Just as planned: Kagami, Hina and Tsukasa making it that far. Not as Planned: Fate Testarossa. You would think that without the Rozen, she may finally win. However, Fuuko happened. |

There's a pretty big difference between those characters. I like Kagami and don't like Tsukasa.
I hate Lucky Star so I'm definitely not happy with this. But I knew I couldn't have two good Saimoes in a row

If Tsukasa wins the final, can we call her the most successful character in J-Saimoe? She would have one championship and one quarter-final appearance under her belt. The only other character who can claim that would be Nanoha, except Tsukasa did it in consecutive years and with only the one series, so I'd give her the nod. Although with the new movie coming out, Nanoha will probably be a genuine title contender again next year, whereas the LS girls' power will wane from here on out unless a second series is announced.

This is the second final between two characters of the same series.
The first time, the main character Nadja was defeated by Rosemary (both from Ashita no Nadja) in 2004. Now, we have a Hiiragi sisters final. Is it the moment for Tsukasa to shine against her sister? Is it the revenge of the volleyball match? The revenge for supporting characters? (as Kusakabe says). Hinagiku and Nagisa share the bronze medal. Nagisa was the rookie of the year, or the best debut. The surprises: Minami sisters and Lulz Fairy. The disappointment: Higurashi |

You forgot Bamboo Blade. Tsukasa making the final is also a surprise, IMO. Nagi, Akari, Fuuko, and Hina are all top tier competitors but she beat them all. Okay, maybe Akari is upper-mid tier.

In the essence of sportsmanship, I congratulate Tsukasa for winning such a tough match today.
Thought that I won't despair if Hina lose today since my fandom on her has lessened since last year, even voted against Hina on her match against Noe. For some reason, Hina's loss today still brought a lot of sadness. -_______- *end of Saimoe 2008 for me
