If you have a PSP and you're confident of your language skills, try out play-asia.com for their psp version. You can get either the standalone version of E17 or get Infinity Plus Portable which consists of all 4 games in the Infinity series. Also the PSP version has the tips section which solves a lot of question that was raised in the PC version.

Really? I had predicted that was the case with the TIPS section in Ever17, but you say it's really true? What questions does it answer?

The real meaning behind the password in You's route, covers a bit of Cure Syndrome (not the virus) and so on. The only thing it doesn't cover is the hide and seek mystery. Will add more when I reached home and grab my psp.

Now... Something that is totally lost through translation! You'aki's password she had from You'haru. Of course it was planted. "海月の虚空に秋涼し時鳥" is the original Japanese text for the password. "海月" means "Sea and moon", which is the meaning of "Tsugumi", "虚" means illusive, here most likely signifies Blick Winkel. "空" is Sora's given name in Japanese. "秋" means autumn, here is a part of You'aki's name, "aki" = autumn = "秋". "涼" is the first character of "Ryogo" ("Ryogo" in Japanese = "涼権"), "時" and "鳥" are most likely to be hints to Blick Winkel, "時" means time. Blick Winkel travels through time and change history. "鳥" means bird. A bird flying in sky oversees the land animals, like how BW the 4th dimension being observes the 3D world. The reason for creating this puzzle probably is to remind BW that, "the truth is about perspective, use another angle to see" etc.

This is only partially correct. According to the tips, "海月" means Tsugumi, "虚" means Coco(Not explained. Someone with knowledge of Japanese explain?),"空" means Sora, "秋" means You'aki(Note that to You'haru, You'aki is the same as herself), "涼" means Ryogo, "時鳥" means Takeshi.

"海月の虚空に秋涼し時鳥" is written by 正岡子規 (Masaoka Shiki). 子規 is another term for 時鳥(Lesser Cuckoo). The reason for this is due to Masaoka Shiki continued working even when he had tuberculosis and was compared to lesser cuckoo which has a legend of cuckooing until it pukes blood. You'haru hence links Takeshi to 時鳥, as he keeps thinking of his friends, even though he already has TB(coincidence that Tief Bleu has the same short form as Tuberculosis and both have the same symptons?)

Hence the reason for this password was not for BW, but rather for You'haru to keep reminding herself.

See, I put this on my half.com wishlist, and it seems that there's a copy selling for $30 right now. If anyone wants it, I'd suggest getting it while you can.

If the player connect that line with Sara talking about who she thinks the pendent is, it's possible to figure out that Tsugumi is Sara's mother. I don't know anyone who actually has picked up on that before playing the final route, but it's definitely a case of "hidden in plain sight".

One Animesuki member (Irenicus) actually managed to figure out You was a clone before playing the final route although I'm not sure what tipped him off.

Having gone back and noticed these scenes, I no longer think "wow, they cheated", but more "wow, I should have paid more attention."

(Also, at least one of Coco's seemingly childish descriptions of a dream in Takeshi's routes is a scene in the Kid's route run through her weird imagination.)

I also figured out that You was a clone before the final route. I played You's route second, after Tsugumi, and I realized the 2034 connection there (though I didn't quite understand it, since I didn't realize there were two Kids until the final route.). After seeing the older You in the ending, I realized that You was either: A) the same person as the older You, who might have time traveled somehow, or B) a clone. My reasoning for this was there was no possible way a mother and daughter could look so much alike (not to mention sharing the same voice actor.). Then I played Sora's route, and once Sora mentioned that cloning had been legalized by 2010, I realized that my B was the correct answer.

I actually figured out that Sara was Tsugumi's daughter a different way. As I mentioned, I figured out the year 2034 was involved in You's route. I then began to think that the Kid's routes took place in 2034. Suddenly, something clicked in my head, and I remembered Takeshi and Tsugumi had sex in their route. I then looked in the manual, and confirmed Sara's birthday was on January 21st. I then realized if my theory was correct, then Sara's birthdate was January 21st, 2018- which would have been nearly 9 months after Takeshi and Tsugumi had sex, and my theory was confirmed after Sara showed the pendant on her route. Still, I wasn't expecting the Kid to be her twin brother.

Shouldn't someone make an official topic for that game now that there's a full English translation available for it? I think it deserves it's own topic.

It actually happened before E17, so if anything, it'd be a prequel. No relationship besides the mention of Leiblich Pharmaceuticals in the tips and one other thing I won't mention.

I'm pretty sure that all the game routes are translated. The only thing's that aren't translated yet are the TIPS and a couple MENU's.

And I called it a sequel, because it was released after Ever 17.

Apparently, the translators for Remember 11 are thinking of doing 12 Riven (the 4th and final in the series) after they finish. I'm a little bit mixed on this because from what I can find, it has a different writer than the first 3 games. So I'm worried it won't be as good.

That's not what sequel means

Everything's translated (including the tips). The project's in the QC phase now, ie. people reading it over to make sure it's good to go. Patch hasn't been updated in a while though.
NTX won't do 12Riven because of unfavorable reviews and a lack of MC voices. Lors is in no rush to get started on a new project; he might be pulled along if someone else showed some gusto as a translator and spearheaded translation.

Yeah, aside from the TIPS, all the game text has been translated. The Satoru perspective hasn't been fully edited though.

Remember11 is an excellent game. I'd say that the writing is a huge improvement over Ever17, although the mysteries and sense of tension aren't as good. The Satoru half (written by just Uchikoshi and Nakazawa.....it seems that KID reassigned all the sub-writers different projects after they finished Kokoro's perspective) isn't so polished either.

It's the same writer, Kotaro Uchikoshi. He was the lead scenarist and visionary force behind all the Infinity games, so they definitely contracted the right person to do 12Riven. It was a solo effort that time though, whereas previous games were handled by a team of scriptwriters.

OTOH, the director of the previous Infinity games (the co-writer on the games as well), Takumi Nakazawa, wasn't involved.

Yeah, that's because Nakazawa left KID after Remember11 and joined with Regista, where he proceeded to write I/O (which is another very interesting visual novel, set in the same universe as Ever17.). He hasn't really done much recently though, the last game he directed was a game called Myself ; Yourself.

Actually, concerning the infinity series, I have recently been playing Never7 on my PSP. I have been enjoying it so much that I was thinking of starting a fan-translation for it soon, putting it up on the TL Wiki. I don't have the PC version yet though, so it might have to wait for a bit, but I'd be very happy to start a project like that. What do you guys think?

I would LOVE to see Never 7 get translated.

In fact, is there any chance we could see a Remember 11 psp translation since the PC version is finished? I mean, wouldn't it just be a matter of importing the translated text over to a PSP patch? I'd love it if that could be done for Ever 17 too. hehe

So is 12 Riven the lowest rated of the Infinity series?
