Ai Yori Aoish / Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ = Two seasons of my favorite harem anime of all time. A guy moves into a boarding house owned by his fiance's family, but they have to keep their releationship secret from the other tenants. Its got some funny stuff and some cute girls, but the best part is the actual romance in this one. Love Hina / Love Hina Again = A classic harem anime of a looser who ends up working as the manager of an all-girls apartment building. To tell the truth it pales compated to the orginal manga, but it's still worth watching. Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki = One of the original harem anime, about a young guy who winds up living in a house full of beautiful alien girls. There are a couple of other Tenchi series (Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo) but the original OVA is my favorite. Mahoraba ~Heartful days = A typical situation, one college age guy moves into an apartment full of women. But this one is exceptionally well done. Not as much "ecchi" as some others, but a great story and great characters. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru = The gimick to this series is that the guy has to dress up as a girl to attend an all-girls high school in order to meet the requirements of his grandfather's will. Lots of laughs and some great characters and relationships, but like Mahoraba not a lot of "ecchi". Hope that gives you some ideas. |

People seem to think that a "harem" must involve multiple romantic relationships. By that definition Mahoraba would not be considered "harem" but I use it in a broader defintion of simply a single guy surrouned by multiple girls.

The very meaning of the word "harem" points at multiple women having romantic relationship (interest in case of anime ) with one guy, so using it to describe an anime which is pretty much straight forward romance between 2 people is kinda incorrect, even if there are other females present I think anything above a love triangle is worth labeling as harem, but definitely not below that

In the mean time, since my suggestion of Heartful Days is being spurned, how about the fantasy harem anime D.C. ~Da Capo~. Definetly more than two momantic interests in that one, although perhaps a bit lighter on the comedy than most. Last edited by mdauben; 2007-06-22 at 15:09. |
