Can Nyarko really turn to a monster? Even in her brother's flashbacks she was still using a human form, so I'm wondering if she even goes native at all. I can see her keeping a human form forever since she likes humans so much.

The flashback is a joke on another fanservice liveaction cop drama. In the novels and manga she transforms much more frequently.

Rose from Dragon Crisis is actually a giant dragon.

animal girl still look cute anyway, at least the offspring of a human and an animal girl won't look ugly, and whatever anime have animal girl in it, animal girl would be a normal thing in that world. while Nyaruko here will sure give birth to an offspring that have Eldritch Abomination form, and that child will have huge problem with his/her life if raised on earth.

The "one-eyed god" is the true form while the girl is the transformed form.

You have some interesting reasoning there. For Isana you consider her transformed form as "beautiful girl" while for Nyaruko, you don't consider her transformed form as "beautiful girl" but as an ugly eldtrich abomination?

Only difference is Isana frequently transforms back into god form and tells people that's her real form while Nyaruko hasn't even transformed or make mention of a "real form".

About the real form thing, in the latest issues of Oh My Goddess it has been hinted that demons true form is not humanoid at all and that goddesses are no diferent. I still think it would be kind of comical to read a doujinshi where Mahuro finally porks Nyaruko, she loses control and goes all-tentacle and Mahiro goes "what the heck, I am not stopping at the middle, sanity be damned"

Because the ahoge itself is a reference to the Howler in the Dark, the avatar that has, you know, a tentacle in place of a head.

If you'll notice, the cowlick is common to all Nyarlathotepians while in human form. Nyaro has it, and Nyarue from Remember my Love(craft-sensei) has it too.
