Oh, I saw this clip in the end of Star Driver ep. 5.
She looks as epic as Major from GitS, I hope the rest of the show is as good.

The concept and the setting seem very interesting. It looks a bit dark and sick at times though so I don't think it's for everyone.

I was also interested in the original GONZO project and Range Murata's renditions of the characters which we'll never get to see considering it was cancelled.

Anyway the reason I decided to post here was: the wait is over - it should be out now, right? Last I checked it was supposed to be released on 6.11.2010 and that's today. So if anyone has seen in I'd love to hear if it's as good as it seems to be.

I think that's the Japan premiere, not the DVD release.

Here's the website link for the theater listing. Link

No mention of a DVD or BD under their goods section. Link

The only other thing being released today other than the film in theaters is the soundtrack.

Sorry bro, I meant joe_fh ask the movie comment to people that watch it at Japan theatre, its not necessarily to wait DVD release to ask that like Haak suggested.

Did anyone pick up the novel yet? I'm one chapter away from finishing the first book. I really like it and I'm not usually a sci-fi fan. It's stange how Amazon doesn't have a DVD release date yet.

Well the BR/DVD finally announced on the 9th to be scheduled for the this upcoming summer, I've been dying to watch this. Looks like Combustion is scheduled for fall, so it's around like one movie per year?

Awesome, great to see it's release has finally been dated, now we need this to make it's way here with a blu-ray too.

Just watched Compression.

The visual's pretty impressive, which makes me feel like I should get the BR and watch it on a big screen when I finally get access to a TV again. Pretty grim film, lots of abuse and nudity.
Spoiler for Compression:

Looking forward to the next 2 parts.

Enjoyed it, but felt it developed too quickly, so the characters lacked emotional depth. Except maybe Boiled, surprisingly. Not especially impressed by Hayashibara Megumi as Balot. Has voice acting improved since she was the big name? Or am I just not getting it? Anyway, I will definitely be back for more.

Yep. But it wasn't as effective as it should have been because I watched the trailer for the second movie before I watched the movie itself.

This movie deserves more love. That was all sorts of awesome - my personal favorite was the courtroom scene. Marvelously well done imo.

Got to watch it on a big screen off a new projector and was quite the watch
