Well there's only one way to respond to that:

Oh crap.

I don't mind the plot changing itself because I like the game system and art style but don't like the scenario much. But the director's intention which I grasped from the interview disappointed me. Why the main focus is a triangular love? and it seems that he wants to make us watch it as a TV drama rather than anime. I personally have never liked the anime which the director said like that.

So, I expect only the comedic episode.

My judgements will be withheld until the actual show airs, but my interpretation of the article comes with slight dissapointment. As long as its well executed, has the characters act the way they're supposed too, and has a good enough entertainment value I could care less if they take a lot of focus on the love aspect as long as they don't totally block everything else out.

Hmm... Focus on a love triangle? I can't recall there being one in the game...?

They probably did that to attract more female viewers. Simple formula, let's see..

- Shows with 2 bishoujos or more went after one undecisive guy = more male fans.
- Shows with 2 bishounens or more went after one undecisive girl = more female fans.

Yes I consider Welkin as a bishounen in the anime. I guess I'm gonna wait until the show air before making any judgments.

well they have to make it so it appeals to a general audience, throwing in romance of sorts helps.
Can't just be aiming for the core gaming audience, can they now?

whether its a main or even big focus on love I don't mind, I just wanna see this!

This has nothing to do with "core game audience", as the game plot and development is basically "anime-style".

Well to tell the truth I blitzed through VC my first time just so I could see how Welkin and Alicia's relationship grew so I don't mind if they put a bit more of a romantic spin on things.

Besides, how romantic can a bug crazed guy be. He compares Alicia to a White Winged Gull and the Rhinoceros Beetle...

Valkyria Chronicles is the best game I've played in a long time and probably the first to actually get me emotionally involved since Ever17.

From a standpoint of the staff, they might not have been able to get enough estimate for war scenes. Utawarerumono's producer said that DVD sales were very good but it was in the red as a business.

Its my runner up for best 2008 game after Fallout 3.

Not for the storyline, though. I HATE idiot plots.

It may be idiot and cliched, but it worked. No need to get so aggressive. I liked the plot.

How many episodes this show will have? If its have more than 50 then I should not watch it. If its about 26 I will give this a shot.

Aggressive? I'm laughing to hard to consider this aggressive. I rather liked this sarcastic outlook on the plot. Can't help but agree too.

I doubt VC will have more then 50 episodes, if even that, but why would that stop you?

Well I don't. I've seen these flaws as well, but I still liked it. It worked much better than other, more grandiose tries.

I don't get me wrong, I liked the game and the plot, it's just these little things that had me role my eyes before I continued playing.

Then again, even without her Valkyrur powers Alicia pretty much soloed nearly everything. Caution + Defense is hard.
