Sing? How about getting someone with a better understanding of English to write the lyrics? Even allowing for the Engrish pronounciation, the song's lyrics make little sense. They're delightfully funny but quite nonsensical. (Maybe they resurrected the spirit of Lewis Carroll to write the lyrics? )

Some things are better in Engrish. The song doesn't need to make sense to be charming, in this case.

Sroo appre eyes...

Actually the line is "I danced with the peanut butterflies" according to the lyrics printed in the OST booklet. Not that peanut butterflies makes any more sense than the version you quoted.

According to the booklet, here are the English lyrics ...

Quote:
O seven apples on a witch's tree
With seven seeds to plant inside of me
In springtime I grew a magic song
Then skipping along, oh I sang the song to everyone

I looked at the world through apple eyes
And cut myself a slice of sunshine pie
I danced with the peanut butterflies
Till time went and told me to say hello but wave goodbye

A thousand sugar stars
Oh put them in a jar
And then whistle round the world
Oh whistle round the world
I'm a little wolf inside a girl, you say
And off I'll go from June to May
Oh whistling round the world

I just hope that they don't screw us over with the second season of Spice and Wolf. The first season had a pretty decent happy ending. It would suck to get a second season just to have a depressing ending.

Well I don't think you have to worry since they're working along the same storyline as the light novels and the fact this show doesn't look like its heading down the path of "depressing ending". Either way there is no way they would finish off the story from all the novels with just a second season without deriving from the manga or just doing piss poor pacing and writing.

I never really followed the light novels so I don't know what that outcome is.
I was suggested this anime series.
I'm a Kallen and Lelouch fan from Code Geass. I was told that if I like that pairing I should enjoy this series. Since they have the same voice actors. I looked it up and these two have done quite a bit of work together.

I've just been often disappointed in anime ends.

I really enjoy this series. The opening song of the first season is just beautiful. Should be interesting if they use a new song for the second season.

Has there been a release date for the second season. I don't think I saw any dates when I last when to the official site.

When I first heard it I though it was "I danced with the Spring and Buterflies" That made alot more sense than Peanut Butterflies. But maybe, like honeyed peaches, Horo will maybe get to try eating Peanuted Butterflies >.<?(I know she never actually got the Peaches.)

Frankly I don't think any of it makes much sense . But somehow after listening to it numerous times I just got used to it. Since I never know what anyone is saying with the Japanese lyrics doesn't really matter if English doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, if you can make sense of those lyrics, you're either a genius or completely insane.

Does no one really get the Peanut butterflies thing? The song's singing about yummy food and natural things, like... eyes = apple, sun = pie, etc. And then there's peanut butter...who doesn't like peanut butter... peanut butter = butterflies, the word becomes one because they both have butter in them, and it's SO CUTE.

I see nothing confusing about this.

Japanese use english words because they SOUND pretty or the alphabet characters LOOK pretty --- the actual meaning is often only tangentially relevant.

"whimsy" and "jabberwocky" is a fair description of the tune.
