"The Romancing Star". Well I figure few people care for these side characters to begin with but oh well. Shigeo gets his V-day chocolates from his girlfriend madoka. He is so happy getting special chocolates from her, he invites her out but she says she has plans and he notices she has a buttload of chocolates in her bag along with a huge one unlike the one she just gave him. He gets depressed then Suga shows up to take it away since there's plenty of guys who would be happy with just getting them.

As they argue over it Nishimoto shows up and tells them that's nothing there's even more pitiful people out there. Turns out it's Yoshidayama's birthday and he has received nothing from anyone. Shigeo and Suga realize they suck for thinking they were the only ones with problems. They cheer him up, Nara is touched by their kindness to those worse off. He decides to mention he didn't get any but he made some for himself so they didn't think he was a loser. They can't believe he sunk so low and chapter ends with Harry getting a mountain of them but he doesn't understand why.

"An Officer and a Gentleman". Starts off with Tenma nervous because tomorrow is the trip to England. She wonders if she will make some progress with Karasuma. Next day she wakes up late and rushes to get to the airport. At the airport the entire class is a little nervous and excited about the trip. Tenma and Mikoto are super cute, Mikoto says it's her overseas debut and Tenma says she knows the feeling. Meanwhile Nara is nervous then Yoshidayama and Nishimoto dressed up as members of the Beatles tell him to calm down. Ichijou, Tsumugi, and Sagano are talking about Ichijou getting Imadori during this trip. Suga threatens Asou saying if he should happen to disappear with Mikoto he will never touch Japanese soil ever again. Harima is determined about Tenma because only 1 month left until their 2nd year finishes.

They take off and head to England and an hour later they land and Tenma says that was a quick flight . Mikoto says it looks a lot like the Kansai Airport then they take an express train and make their arrival in "England" Everyone is excited and they go see the sights and sounds of England. First off is Big Ben, the London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, etc. The students are going wild with excitement and try to get Tani into it but he is depressed. He tells them that this isn't England it's Kyoto . The students think they are being joked with and he explains that because of an exchange student from the main school in England the trip was changed to Kyoto and all they have seen were landmarks of Kyoto. Suga gets pissed and snaps at Tani. He just can't accept that explanation and how everyone was looking forward to England and calls Tani an idiot. Tani tries to tell him that there's plenty of good places in Kyoto as well.

After a while Suga forgets about all that and starts enjoying it along with the other students and Tani is happy he has such good students. Akira notices something is bothering Sawachika who is trying to bear with it. Then Tenma asks what happened to Hanai. Mikoto says he was going to go first and greet the class as they got off the plane. Chapter ends with Hanai in London at the Heathrow Airport waiting for his class to come out.

story just isn't funny enough without harima. every chapter should be a harima chapter.

Actually, in #169, Eri found out that Harima likes another girl. Remember that magazine that she was reading, saying that if you want to be successful with the one you love, be cute and flirty with that person, but be cold to everyone else? After Harima acts coldly to Eri, when she's about to give the chocolates, she notices that he has the exact same magazine that she was reading (the corner is sticking out of his jacket) - which clues her in.

This is another Eri crisis arc.

Of course, with Karasuma's upcoming departure, and with the nature of Eri's discovery, one might guess that this time around things are finally coming to a head.

"Lo Straniero" Starts off with Hanai back in Heathrow. He is getting worried because they are late. He blames Harima but someone stops next to him and says "Harry McKenzie?" and attacks Hanai. Meanwhile back in Kyoto everyone is getting together with someone except for the unlucky ones. However that doesn't stop Suga, Yoshidayama and co from having fun. Harima is trying to get with Tenma but can't quite get her alone. He overhears Akira telling Tenma about a story that if you write the name of the person you like and place the paper in the hole it'll come true. Harima gives it a try when Sawachika comes in wondering what he is doing. At first he gets annoyed and thinks that she was born to get in his way In order to avoid having his intentions exposed he asks if she wants to walk around with him.

He then gets pissed at himself because of what he just said which comes off as if he invited her. She agrees, as they walk around he wishes she was Tenma and gets caught by Sawachika. She then tells him to say something interesting because she's bored. Harima makes an attempt but she isn't amused. She says even though they are walking together then Harima jumps in with why should he be going out of his way to entertain her. She then says that normally the guy takes the lead when Harima notices someone is behind them. Chapter ends with a new character dumping Hanai's body in front of them and saying he/she has finally arrived to Kyoto.

He more likely has something to do with Harry McKenzie, if he called out his name.

It would be fun to see a fight, though. Some more Eri-Harima combination moves would be nice.

Probably because Hanai was talking outloud about Harima (Harima Kenji~Harry McKenzie(sp)).

I was rereading this weeks and I realized something... If any of you have ever played some renai w/e games (remembered this from the original Tokimeki Memorial actually ) you know whenever a class goes to Kyoto or somewhere... And you and your girl go off and have a walk around you get into a fight somewhere along the way with something or some thugs. lol "flag"+1

I'm not sure if anybody has noticed this yet, but the volume 12 cover seems to be up on Shonen Magazine's site. It has Yoshidayama, Ganji, and Nara on the cover.

"Sayuri". The guy in the mantle takes off his mantle, he is huge man with an Afro in a student uniform. He is rather slow or his japanese sucks either way Harima has a hard time understanding him. Sawachika thinks he is a molester but harima disagrees saying Hanai wouldn't have lost to a molester. He tells sawachika to step back and Harima gets ready to fight he even says its been ages since he felt this sensation. Another guy shows up a short guy named Mick also in a student uniform he steals harima's paper with tenma's name on it. Harima demands he give it back but Mick calls him Heartless saying he went through alot of trouble to get and he takes out the slip of paper with Tenma's name. He starts riling up Harima by taunting him, then another guy shows up wearing glasses, Willie, and Mick tells him to entertain Harima for a bit. He then says he'll pass and that the "boss" is calling them and they need to go back or there's going to be trouble. Sawachika tries to get between them all saying isn't he an Englishman? In their country don't they place the lady first. Willie tells her she's no lady otherwise she wouldn't be out here late at night in the cold. She says she has a reason why she's out here...

Meanwhile back at the hotel, the girls are going crazy over yet another guy who is introduced his name is Shawn who is ultra bishie and friends with Harry. Shawn is talking about the Gion Festival and joking with Harry about the fate of being natives. The girls continue to go crazy over the 2 of them saying when they are lined up side by side they are the strongest. Back to Harima and co, Harima says he understands they are oversea students and give him back the slip of paper, he then asks sawachika to translate for him so he could understand as well. Willie then appears to recognize sawachika and yet another new guy shows up saying how it's been ages since he last saw her. She asks him what is he doing here in Japan. Harima asks if this guy is an acquaintance of hers, and she says yes his name is Max an acquaintance from when I was in England. Max gets the slip of paper saying it's a marriage charm and then says harima is a knight in this island isn't that great half japanese which makes sawachika turn red and angry at the same time. Harima is a little lost and asks her to translate for him. Max is surprised by her expression and says he'll keep the paper for a while and leaves. As he is leaving Harima grabs his shoulder and tells him to wait. Max tells him if he thinks those feelings will actually reach the person. Harima finally figures he speaks japanese so that makes it quicker, Max tells him he doesn't know his own place and that even if a revolution happened his wish won't come true. Harima says he's going to take back his paper slip and they will come true. Chapter ends with Tenma and co back at the hotel playing games and Tenma whooping ass with a revolution.

No need to be rude. That last post was questioning whether school rumble should be a proper romance, as opposed to whether it is. You need to read it in the context of the post that preceeded it.

That being said, Jin's handling of Shigeo x Madoka, at the very least, shows that he is capable of handling established relationships quite well. Of course, with Harima's tunnel vision being the biggest hurdle to overcome in this series, it would be hard to build up the same sort of dramatic tension in the story after he overcomes it.
