What struck me about Kuyoh the msot gotta be the lack of ability to communicate that well. She reminds me of a really distant Nagato, but she has potential that way. I still want a very rigid/incapable to feel character, of course the "You have pretty eyes" line is important, even if we were to change it.

Exactly.

I can also imagine that most of those guys were effectively poor replacements for John Smith, or rather, Haruhi's perception of John Smith.

What's interesting, by the way, about John Smith is that, due to Haruhi's perception of him, he has taken on an identity that he never intended to have.

And, when Haruhi finally finds him, she, of course, doesn't really recognize him.

So I suppose that Haruki would have done something similar in middle school.

Spoiler for INVASION OF HARUHI...:

And there's my part.

Y'know, maybe this'll just be a fanfic for myself... Hmm...

Moved on fast there. I was going to mention the most appropriate Deep Space Nine quote on the matter of time travel; Miles O'Brian: "I hate time travel".

At least we have more or less moved on back into the novels.

And now we watch as people will start replying only because someone other than me posted!

EDIT: Crap, I guess not. This is a dark moment for the thread. We're half dead.

Question: Do you think Itsuko should really glomp Kyonko as she waves goodbye to Mitsuuru? I can see it happening, but then again, I can also see it... well... not happening.

I think I'll leave it out for now.

Try to replace it with something not as masculine as a pat on the shoulder and not as, um, lesbian as the glomp.

It might or might not work, depending on the people invoilved, but it is not the proper fiction for this thread (we have too many projects as it is). The "Invasion" should be on the fanfiction thread, it needs more material.

Since Haruhi's motivation was to see Kyon do something cool, maybe Haruki' motivation would be to look cool in front of Kyon-chan?
That's what I came up with to.

I think we could go with a female version of the Pirates. Professional female baseball teams aren't unknown. And a professional team still would be better than Haruki would be able to compensate for.

He'd broadcast it non verbally. Perhaps having an aggravated expression, and glancing back and forth between the other team, and Kyonko.

Going tennis or similar, a more feminine sport, could give Kyon-chan a chance to do something cool in front of Haruki, thus reinforcing his idea that she's special, just as Haruhi was trying to reinforce her image of Kyon as someone special.
Nah. I think we should just go with the Gender bent baseball tournament. And I don't think Kyonko showing overt amounts of sports based competence is going to be important to Haruki as it was for Haruhi. Guy's just don't have that inner glee at their girlfriends being able to do something cool.

Maybe Haruki messes up... perhaps he get's nervous as he looks over at Kyon-ko watching him.

OR! this is better, because I can't imagine Haruki messing up.
He hits a homerun. But Kyon-ko didn't even see it.

"Hey Kyon-ko, did you see that?! I hit a grandslam!" Haruki says, huffing from running bases.

"Ah you did? I was getting Itouto some icecream, I must've missed it..."

*Cue Closed Space*
Of course, Haruki would act like it's no big deal.
How about the fact that he simply isn't as good at Baseball as the other team? He's essentially a talented amateur. Haruhi was able to blitzkrieg the other team until they realized who only knew how to do a few moves well.

I really don't see Kyonko as the type to get worked up over Haruki's home runs, even if she did see it. That alone could bug Haruki.

Oh the pages I have missed~ So much reading I have to do OTL

Anyway, since Jintor's on a quest for Kyonko pics in this kind of style, I decided to draw this for him. Sadly, this style isn't my forte OTL

I like how this pic screams, "Kyonko is not amused."

Zomg, tankyou!

I love the uber-realistic Korean illustration (that's where I generally see it) style that exists. It's my favorite style of all.

Time for integration by parts, eh?

Is it ever specifically stated that Yuki's hair color is not purple? (And yes, I fully understand that purple is not a normal hair color. I was asking simply because, well, considering that Yuki has data manipulation abilities, her hair really could be purple.)

Why do I imagine Haruki just having watched Clannad and thinking the conversation should follow Akio and Sanae's conversation at the baseball park and Kyonko ruining the moment for him?

(Haruki imagines something along the lines of:
Haruki: "I just hit a big one, did you see, Kyon?"
Kyonko: "Yes, I saw it clearly"
Haruki: "Did you fall in love?"
Kyonko: "Yes.")

In relations to the idea of time travel and Haruhi like-powers, isn't it strange that Kyon seems to be the only one that can either "change" time (he's the only one active in the time-line, the time travelers seems to be following only the preset options), or immune to Haruhi-like powers (Haruhi has no power that effects him and the others all seem to take place around him, but not effect him directly, thus he is able to observe that something is different)
