Interviewer: “In the original work, the Arrancar arc has finally reached its conclusion.”


Kubo: “At long last, it ended… yeah, I have that kind of feeling. Even though I said ‘I’ll end it next year’ back in JF, how many years ago… (laugh) Since I got to write out Aizen’s emotions and I was able to end Ichigo and Rukia’s part with a good feeling, I could breathe a sigh of relief… that’s what I think.”

Interviewer: “Having Ichigo’s reiatsu disappear was so shocking!”

Kubo: “Up until the end I still hadn’t decided whether it would disappear completely or not… but instead of doing things by halves and letting him keep a part of it, I made things progress like that.”

Interviewer: “In the Arrancar arc, which event impressed you and stayed with you the most?”

Kubo: “As expected, the part where Ichigo reaches his turning point. Ichigo vs Grimmjow, Ichigo vs Ulquiorra… and then, of course, the last fight with Aizen.”

Interviewer: “And the next story that you care to tell…”

Kubo: “If you’re talking about the general plot, there is one… but I still haven’t decided on the specifics for the conclusion. Since I also brought up some underplots in the Arrancar arc, there are still a lot of things that I want to write about. At the time when this book comes out the original work will be meeting a new development as well, so I think that you’ll be able to have fun with both that and the Hell chapter.”

Interviewer: “Well then, please give a final message for your readers!”

Kubo: “To be honest, in the Hell chapter there are also plenty of parts that we weren’t able to talk about here. So of course, I’d like for you to bring your legs to the theatre and watch the conclusion of the Hell chapter with your own eyes.”

Interviewer: “Thank you for today!”

I've noticed in the new anime OP, they showed Riruka before the manga chapter introduced her, so as for other things I saw in the OP as well...

I'm thinking that if the worst things happen for Ichigo (friends/family start dying), then it might really be a hallucination from Kyouka Suigetsu...or even Zangetsu if it turns out he's the one who got Ishida.

Put up a screenshot of what you're referring to. Because I just don't see where in the OP Riruka is. I noticed one girl with a hair style that looks somewhat similar, but it's still different. It's just the little dead girl that was shown in the very first episode/chapter 1 of the manga.

I think you might be looking into things too deeply here. That whole portion of the OP looks like it's composed of a bunch of memories--Ichigo's memories to be more exact. And the reason he's having these memories could be interpreted as a sort-of foreshadowing of what ultimately happens to him at the end of the deicide arc. That particular flashback you posted a pick of depicts the moment when Orihime's soul was separated from her body by her brother. The shirt was the giveaway here. Granted, I suppose she might still wear that same shirt in the future and end up in that exact same situation again, but for now, I think the former conclusion is the best one. Besides, it's hard to believe the anime would really introduce canon material before the manga does.

Well I wasn't really sure of anything. The whole thing wasn't necessarily future events (I only just noticed Rukia trying to open something with Keigo/other guy). You're probably right. I blame characters looking alike for the Riruka-ish girl (I can't believe you remembered what she looked like). I must really want this to be a dream/hallucination XD.

Don't give me too much credit. Initially I had forgotten all about her too. Your predictions gave me the urge to give the OP a closer look. Upon doing so, I noticed the broken bottle with flowers on the ground immediately proceeding the footage of the Riruka lookalike. That pieced the connection for me. Because I have to admit, at a glance, they do look an awful lot alike. In fact, I had to look at details other than her face and pigtails to be sure.
