With Misaki's and Gunha's stories slowly fleshed out, it is possible JC Staff would release Railgun 2 without making it moeblob if they won't have important roles in the Index storyline.

Though it was said that Index is one of the persons who could benefit from Misaki's powers, and that would give us a potential backstory about Index, who she really is, and if she is Really 700 Years Old or not.

But what about Touma and Accelerator? Well, Touma's memory banks got fried by the side effect of Pendex's Frickin' Laser Beams attack, while Accel got his brain's left hemisphere blown, but now he doesn't need to rely on the Sisters' Network that much.

That says something about Misaki's potential role in Index.

I don't know what role would Gunha have though.
