I know the government of the US has done some pretty stupid things in the past, but this...
U.S. agents slam gun sting effort on Mexico border http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...75E49N20110615 "Fast and Furious" a "Catastrophic Disaster" http://cspan.org/Events/Fast-and-Fur...10737422274-2/

I'm sure many would rather go hungry. I hope that story is fake. Because that is disgusting.

I knew that was gonna happen. I'm from around Boston, so I watched parts of the game. I watched the end of the game, and I thought "I bet there will be riots". It is so stupid to riot over sports. Okay, it is so stupid to riot, in general.
Glad you are okay, Sumeragi.

Glad to hear you made it home (relatively) safe, Sumeragi. No trouble in my area, thankfully but I'm way out from the downtown core..
Unlike some of the officials who have commented, I did anticipate there would be some trouble, though perhaps not on this level. This kind of thing happened after we lost to New York in 1994, and that legacy was bound to attract copycats. One newscaster mentioned being told that the truck fire that kind of kicked this off was started by the owner, who had brought it with the intention he would burn it if the Canucks lost. If true - and I have my doubts since AFAIK its very difficult to get permission to bring a vehicle into major gathering sites - I wonder if he'll end up being charged with inciting a riot.

Chaos, chaos. I figured there would be a riot even if we've won, so I was trying to get home early, but things didn't happen that way. |
