Suddenly I had those Marimite vibes coming back as I read it this afternoon.

There were rumors about this cancellation some weeks ago and I didn't want believe it, too bad it's confirmed now

It seems that Macross the First could be moved to another magazine by Kadokawa and will continue there but I'm not really sure.

I am not really surprised. An entire magazine publication dedicated to one singular franchise is a bit of an overkill in my opinion. I am actually quite amused that it lasted as long as it did.

I haven't read it closely to translate but this is my impression: Spoiler for spoilers: It is highly BreraRan, IMO. I was caught off guard. The fanartists weren't exaggerating. Ranka is wearing a wedding gown at the end (with a veil and all). There's also the symbolism of the birds/Valkyries red one on her side... And she blushes when Brera kisses her forehead. She forgets Alto's in the same room, she ignores him to hover all around Brera. Tragic evil girl forcedly kisses Ranka and Brera to mind control them. Harem! Her backstory is very messed up. Sheryl is the one who rescues Ranka. It comes with four posters: one with Sheryl and Alto, another with Grace and Sheryl, the Group one (when they are kids, eating apples), and finally one with Ranka sitting between her brother's legs with Ai-Kun near.
