I knew the chapters were out but I didn't have anything to say at the time. Now that I've re-read the chapter, I do have something to say.

Why did Johnny want Valentine to pick up the gun?

Apparently, he was trying to gain Valentine's trust by asking him to pick up the (supposedly empty) gun. My interpretation is that if Funny picked up the gun and didn't shoot Johnny, then he'd be considered trustworthy (remember, Johnny even specifically says that he wanted to trust Valentine, after all).

Looks like the translators are in the final stretch with Steel Ball Run (probably waiting for the volume to be released first). Can't wait to see how this epic saga in Jojo will end.

^Yeah, I was aware about its release a while back, as well. I'll definitely buy it, but now right now sadly as I'm a bit short on funds. But hey, it's still great to see something Jojo related (that isn't part 3) getting an official English release!

Finally caught up with the latest SBR chapters. They were so amazing they left me speechless. I particularly enjoyed you know who's return.

Johnny and Valentine both knew the gun was empty. The reason Johnny wanted him to pick that gun up was so that he could make sure Valentine was not concealing another gun from him and planning a surprise attack unlike he pretended. Alas, Johnny's fears turned out to be justified. If Valentine had truly been sincere about forgiving Johnny and letting him go, he would have thrown that gun away earlier as a gesture of good faith or wouldn't even have brought it in the first place.

'Sup guys? Now while this is usually around the time of the month that the latest Jojolion chapter is released, I unfortunately haven't found any spoilers yet. However, I DID discover the next best thing: Jojolion chapters 8 AND 9 have been translated! Obviously I can't link to them here, but all I'll say for now is to check out a certain Jojo forum.....

Man, reading the translation makes me even more certain that Daiya is a rather diabolical little scamp. But that being said, her ability would be really useful in Josuke's search for his true identity. As for the thing about his and Kira's body having matching DNA.... well, I believe I already commented about that when the spoiler came out months ago, so I won't touch it again for now. But lol at Yasuho's mom being revealed to be a slut (so even Araki enjoys milfs.... ).



As for chapter 9, I already commented on that through the spoilers, too. But I've gotta say that I think I found the scene with Norisuke a lot more hilarious than I initially thought:


"Grrrr! That damned Josuke is deflowering my precious daughter! I'LL KILL HIM! Oh, but I'll let it slide for now since he basically became Daiya's slave. Yes, just go with the flow for now..... but I'll definitely kill him later. I mean it. Really."

Can't wait for the next 2 chapters to get translated so we can finally be up to date.....

Daiya is absolutely nothing like I imagined she would be... I was completely deceived by her innocent exterior. She's indeed quite a diabolical little scamp, and I love her for that. She's a pretty damn cool character.

I'd love her to join the main cast, though I'm not sure how useful she'd be during the inevitable battles. Ah well, I'm sure Araki can manage to make it work.

The mystery surrounding Josuke's identity thickens. I don't know what to think of this latest revelation.

Yeah, Daiya's seriously becoming one of my top favorite Jojo characters. I like how manipulative she is despite her being frail and practically blind. While I'm sure that most other people would find her sort of character annoying (and in all honesty, I'd agree with them on most occasions), I feel Araki pulled her off really well. I'm really hoping she does join the main cast, especially since it would also be really interesting to see how effective her power would be against other enemy stands....

So it looks like after their sneak peek at the family trees from last chapter, Josuke and Yasuho decide to locate Holly Joestar, if I can make things out correctly. Josuke seems to be using a GPS system in order to find Holly's house. However:

A new enemy has appeared.....

It looks like this new enemy stand user has some sort of magnetic ability like Bast or Metallica, because our protagonist gets attacked by metal objects like a sign and stair handrail. But then, he also gets assaulted by leaves(!), so it doesn't seem the enemy's power works exclusively on metallic things. BTW, the fact that the new villain rides a motorcycle made me think that he was the next Highway Star, but notice that his outfit has a certain familiar-looking skull design....


Also, more oddities:

I've got no clue what's up with this kitty, but it looks like this was Josuke's handiwork (the cat looked normal before Josuke used his ability on a security camera that it was laying nearby).

Sadly, Araki's taking a hiatus next month so chapter 13 won't come along until July. Hopefully by then all the previous chapters will be translated (along with the rest of SBR).

I'm really loving the Jojo series, I just finished part 6 and I'm looking forward to starting the next one. But before that I would really like to get what happened at the end of Stone Ocean. Is there, like, an "official" explanation of the events? I have read different explanations and am super confused. And it seems like this has an impact on the next volumes, based on what I've read. I'm new here so I'm marking my questions as spoilers just in case.

So, did Jolyne and co. die, and those in the end are their doubles in an alternate universe? If so, what happens with "our" universe? And why the heck did Emporio end up in the alternate universe? Or did the world just suffer a complete makeover thanks to Pucci's stand?

What are your thoughts?

Spoiler for Stone Ocean:

Well see, when Pucci activated Stairway to Heaven's ability, it "accelerated" time at an alarming rate, as I'm sure you already know. From what I can gather, he sped up time to the point that the world had "reset" itself. I don't recall Araki directly stating that much himself mind you, but I think that much can be inferred when reading through it.


And yes, it's unfortunate, but just about all the protagonists in the final battle aside from Emporio were killed. The people shown in the "reset" world are replacements of sorts. Emporio himself (as well as Pucci) were basically anomalies in that world.


Now, as far as Steel Ball Run (the story after Stone Ocean) goes: Again, as I already said I haven't seen Araki directly state as such himself, but it can definitely be assumed that SBR takes place in the "alternate" timeline created in SO's ending. In fact, it can basically be described as a reimagining of sorts of Phantom Blood, since it takes place around that same time! The current saga (Jojolion) takes place in this alternate world as well, BTW).

Heh, I love that despite how clever Daiya was shown to be, she was STILL outsmarted by Josuke in the end. But like I said before, I still want to see how effective her ability would be against other enemy stand users. And now we're about to get more in-depth info on the family trees from that spoiler I posted on the previous page.....

And so the climactic battle between Johnny and (alternate-alternate) Dio commences! Man, it's pretty damned epic, too. I've gotta admit, Dio setting Johnny on fire was a pretty crazy move (it's no steamroller, but it was still awesome). And as messed up as it was, I kinda chuckled when those few fangirls of Dio's got caught in Johnny's attack. Boy, Valentine sure left one nasty final surprise for Johnny, huh....?

And now there's only two chapters left until the end of the 7th saga.....

Pardon me again, but Jojolion 11 is now translated! However, I should warn anyone who wants to read the chapter that it contains spoilers from the ending of SBR, so you may want to wait until the last two chapters of that series has been translated before checking this out. Now, for my little review:

This was a really cool chapter. I may have spoiled myself with the family tree scene, but luckily I left myself in the dark as far as the rest of the content went, so I was pleasantly surprised with the chapter nonetheless. I've gotta say, the shaving scene was absolutely genius. And I just know that Josuke's dropping the bookmark is going to bite him in the ass later on (he may have placed it back inside the book, but it's not guaranteed that he placed it within the right pages.....

Anyways, in addition to there only being two SBR chapters left to translate, there's only one Jojolion chapter left until we're completely caught up with the current releases! Boy, we've sure came a long way since then.....

The conclusion to Johnny and Dio's epic fight was rather surprising. Johnny was utterly defeated; thankfully for him Lucy feared that would happen and prepared a back-up plan in case he failed to stop Dio. Thus, the Steels saved the day. I'm very impressed with Lucy. Her plan was ingenious and required a lot of guts to pull off. I never expected her to be one to kill the final antagonist of the story.

Lucy and Stephen's discussion seemed to imply she was the true owner of the corpse. I wonder if we'll hear of Lucy in Jojolion...

I couldn't help but laugh when I read what happened to Marco. He was eventually granted amnesty (great!) but unfortunately later died of a cold

Good ending overall. It somehow left me wanting for more though... which is what Jojolion is here for.

Man, even if I did spoil myself on the SBR ending last year, I still found it fantastic after reading the translation. One particular thing I found highly amusing, though:

Did anyone else think it looked like alternate Dio was kissing himself when he merged with his original head? The fact that he was yelling his iconic "WRRRYYYY" scream during the whole thing made the scene even MORE hilarious to me!


Also, I gotta say I love that spread near the end where Johnny is reminiscing about all the people he and Gyro encountered during the race.....
