But too bad. Shabani is taken. According to officials, the gorilla has two wives, Ai and Nene. He's also said to be an excellent father to his children, Kiyomasi and Annie.

Takayushi Ishikawa, a zoo spokesperson, said Shabani's fame was "totally unexpected."

"It's a perfect example of the Internet society... we were very surprised by the phenomenon," he told CNN.

But like a true superstar, Shabani isn't fazed.

As Ishikawa says: "He seems to have noticed his new popularity, but he's kept it very cool."

I'm not sure how that speaks of Japanese men, but it surely sounds like a kick to the nads to lose out to a gorilla. Hehe.

How the heck can they judge it to be handsome? I means, it looks like any gorilla for me.

Is it a hoax? Or an internet experiment, where some social scientists try to see how fast an apparently bs fact can spread within youth groups through online social network?

Actually, they tried that once.

They got some random guy, dressed him up, got some cameramen and bodyguards to follow him and asked him to smile and wave to the crowd.

It worked. Some people even asked for his picture even though they don't know who the hell the guy is.

Well some people look very err much like other apes, so it's not unthinkable for another ape to look marginally more like us...however rare it may be.
