Well putting that aside it was a really cute pair of episodes. I have to say kaneru has grown on me though...Kinda interesting to see someone with a normal job that treats this as a hobby.

I'm surprised this show didn't have more buzz than it did. I only discovered it after the 7th episode was fansubbed. It's as if someone took Azumanga Daioh, and pervertified it!

This series is what Comic Party should have been!
As for Nidou, I disliked her at first but I grew to like her by the end, I think she typifies a lot of office workers living a pointless existence, their mind & soul slowly falling apart in a dead end job, whose one joy in life is some hobby that they desperately cling to. So she's a pathetic and somewhat clingy figure, but these weaknesses contrast nicely with the fact that she's easily the most attractive girl in the story. Also her immaturity helps turn her weaknesses into something rather cute and funny.

Well I personally liked her...Thought she was cute with her childish behavior considering her age.
Sad this has ended already though...Damn you half length episodes. *shakes fist* Atleast it was an enjoyable ride while it lasted...

Release date set for first DVD, 27th Jan 2009, Media Blasters New Title Solicitation. Appears to be a sub-only release (which makes sense given the $20 retail price).

So, "Yes, releasing in sub-only format DOES allow the companies to take ~$10 of the DVD retail price?"
I mean, all of Media Blaster's recent releases have followed this $30 hybrid/$20 sub only scheme so far. This seems to give some justification to the dub-disliking fans who complain about having to pay extra for the dubs they don't want. |

I like Media Blasters' sub-only releases.
For what is basically a niche title, it makes sense. I would imagine that dubbing costs a lot of money - recording studio, voice actors, etc. For a niche title they can save that money and pass the savings on by releasing the DVDs at a lower price, which may make it more appealing to the casual buyer. I think we're going to see this sort of thing a lot more in future. |

Just picked up this series - a "cute" and somewhat odd little series dedicated to ... well ... producing Doujinshi. Slice of life and light comedy (even a little slapstick now and again) rolled into one here.
Not life changing by any means, but an okay watch....
