I can't believe it took me this long to realize this, but... Kubo doesn't plan ahead sh*t. You can count the remaining chapters on one hand, and the pacing is still excruciatingly slow. Kubo draws his story not in arcs, but in chapters, and he wanted this one to end with Ichigo being ready to fight again. Not, you know, going through the portal at least, or actually continuing the fight.

All this makes me think Kubo is insane.
