Well I think it's pretty natural, the anime is closing in on the manga already, if you look at Naruto they got a 100-chapter-gap and they're still using fillers to cover it up. With OP running for so many years I'm honestly surprised at the amount of filler the series has had (especially compared to other series).

Yeah, Bleach had an entire arc of fillers, and Naruto had over two years of straight fillers.

I guess since it was big news across the country they didn't feel it was necessary to announce it in the episode itself. Not much help for those who aren't within the loop though

395 is out,it was so-so,cuz there was no action,only by the end of the episode,but the next episode is the 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw we've got a new opening,it includes even the ID arc,which i don't understand since i've heard that there is a filler arc in between Boa and ID.

Yeah, I checked out the new opening, as well. Past openings have shown some spoilers for upcoming storylines as well, so I wasn't too surprised to see some footage of the current manga storyline being used here. Still, I thought it was awesome to see the appearance of (spoilers ahead):

Looks like the action is going to start pretty soon. I definitely await the appearance of a certain marine.....

wow just wow, I really love the new OP!

it is rather spoiler heavy but then I figure for OP most that watch it are avid manga reader too and those that don't read the manga wouldn't really care for spoilers. Its just one of them series

well miss pirate-queen shows up so its instant win for me!

I like how the Anime team changed Don's color scheme to what the manga has, but I'm glad they kept the shades blue.

One thing i've come to realise is that if you, like me read bleach and one piece and then ask the question why so much filler for bleach than one piece, it's pretty obvious the chapters of bleach have very little going on with all the talking going on in a bleach chapter it would properly take up 5 minutes animation time while theres so much going on in every chapter of one piece that it does'nt have to use as much filler.

Yeah to me it seems like the others have run out of ideas or something like that while in One Piece it seems like Oda's only starting lol.

lol. Yeah I know he seems to have really hit his stride since the archipeligo arc, I mean the chapter where he introduced 9 new pirates (and these pirates are well designed and instantly recognisable) along with the sequence of events prove it.

One piece has out done itself recently and unlike some animes and mangas just seem to keep improving and improving.

Come to think of it, I thought the opening was supposed to change at 394...but I didn't see any changes :O
Aaaanyway, the episode was great, can't wait to see the auction

EDIT: nvm just noticed it changes in 395...
Futher EDIT: finally a new op! glad to see they have it full of spoilers (yes I'm one of those nasty manga readers), I couldn't help but notice that Luffy's vest changes colour a few times from the beginning till the end of the opening -wink,wink-
The episode itself was also quite informative, the war's finally been declared, meaning more action-packed slices of 20 minutes, and the auction is finally reaching its climax! I have to say, the auction itself was far more boring than I had expected, the conversations outside picked my interest somewhat more (with the exception of Kidd's part).

I found the auction at least some bit entertaining Kid, law and Luffy along with Rayleigh kept me interested. Although the archipeligo arc will truely kick off within the next couple of episodes.

One thing that surprised me was the cooler scheme of Kid i'd always thought he'd have a blue colour scheme. * shrugs *

By the way, It would be goddamn awesome if they'll pull CP9 mini coverstory as 2-3 eposide filler instead of common filler storyline : Luffy's search for random yagara,meat,cake,shoe,bubblebike,blahblah.

Still, I thought it was awesome to see the appearance of (spoilers ahead): Spoiler: The appearance of the entire Kuja tribe in the opening, and not just Hancock. It's also nice to see that the anime team made Margaret's hair blonde instead of making it pink or green or something. I also think it would have been nice if some of the Impel Down characters were shown, as well (at least Magellan anyway), but oh well. At least Jinbei's there. Looks like the action is going to start pretty soon. I definitely await the appearance of a certain marine.....
