Slightly Off-topic: Who does everyone want Kodaka to end up with in the end?

Sena being the 'fiancee' as arranged by her father and Yozora being the childhood friend make me think they're the most likely to end up with him... but I wouldn't want Kodaka to end up with either of them. Sena has attitude problems dealing with people, and IMO Yozora's even worse than Sena as a option because she's somewhat obsessed with the bond she had with Kodaka (childhood friend) AND she plagiarized for a important project - that's something I personally don't like (fanfiction's a exception where I don't mind that; it's not like there's any benefits gained from that to our RL self away from the net).

Rika, well I'd put her as a close second choice, with Yukimura as my first choice. These two, IMO, care more about Kodaka's wellbeing than trying to stake a claim on him and prevent others doing the same thing compared to the other two.

I don't even need to go into Kobato (blood related family) or Maria (10 year old); not to mention from everything I read so far they're just competing for the 'imouto' spot that Kodaka has. Those two are in this for love between family members, not romance.

You forgot Kate who's pretty good fit. Someone carefree, who doesn't give a damn about other people's perceptions, a bit of an anti-dote to Kodaka himself. And would makes Kobato/Maria sisters in a sense!

Yozora's been painted as the tragic character so for sentimental reasons would support Yozora/Kodaka pairing. Afterall the moment they shared was the only moment in both their lives where feelings are pure and not damaged by the experiences after. Yozora was 'that' close to happiness ever after 10 years ago, and managed to enjoy her personal love nest a grand total of half a day with Sena bumping in. Interesting thing about Yozora is the contradictions which are all so true of real people sometimes. Not understanding the ramifications of her actions is similar to Sena. Thing I like about haganai is portrayal of mistakes, as obviously no-one is perfect - even Sena.

Sena hasn't developed much, so aside from turning into a pretty generic harem girl when it comes to Kodaka. Her obsession with Yozora was interesting though, and the author I reckon should get back on that track to re-establish who's boss (eg Sena prefers Yozora over Kodaka vibes from earlier volumes) Her 'perfect' aura is jarringly surreal in the sense she doesn't come across as particularly smart but you know, just good at things for no reason, which is a bit of a trope and distracting for me.

Kodaka cannot keep up with Rika, and Yukimura is pretty hopeless TBH.

My favorite candidate is yozora, i see that shes the one that really have been trying hard from the beginning to be with kodaka, and i actually find yozora more likeable because , yeah shes a bitch, but she knows and admit it, while sena treat people like objects and sont see a problem with that, also things can be turned around if the author gives a good reason for their personalities, also given the latest development in the novels i wouldnt be surprised if a new character who likes kodaka from the places he used to live would show up, afterall the subject of kodaka friends in his past school was mentioned and left utoouched since, im not sure but i think that there was someone who teach him to figth, just who were those ppl?

The narration in the end even clearly said that kodaka's what did you say? question isn't really a question, but more like his answer to rika's question. I.e, he answered that he doesn't want anything to change.

I'm not exactly warming up to Kodaka at the moment, so the question for me is which girl do I want more happy?

In the end it's a toss up between Sena and Yozora; I don't really care much about Kodaka but if he makes them happy then so be it.

Kobato and Maria are out for obvious reasons, and I personally feel that Yukimura and Rika would work better as friends characters rather than romantic interest... Only because Kodaka can't seem to befriend guys without turning them into girls *cough* Then there are some things you can talk to a friend but not a girl friend.

So yeah, down to Sena and Yozora- no matter how much I play it out in my head, I can't seem to pick one. If I go down Sena's route, I'll feel terrible for Yozora. If I go down Yozora's route, I'll beat myself up for Sena.

I guess that's the sign of a good triangle for me?

Even if he's being a coward, you can't really blame the guy. He never had any close friends in his entire life. He kinda failed the only one he had 10 years ago, although he finally met him (her) again.

And now when he finally people he can call friends, they are all girls who trying to get his attention and/or love. Kodaka's not that dumb, he must be know that if he choose one of them, it will definitely change their relationship, most likely in bad way. After all they've been through, I think Kodaka hasn't prepared to lose all that again.

And speaking of Sora, did Kodaka and Yozora talked why they didn't meet 10 years ago before Kodaka had to move?

It will takes more than 13 episodes to cover 3 light novels if they completely animate all of the chapter I think ^^

Since I'm a fan of Sena, obviously I want her to be the one Kodaka ends up with
But to see it objectively, like anyone else, both Yozora and Sena I think have the biggest chance to end up with him.

So far, Kobato and Maria are more fit to be his sisters to take care of. Rika I can see her as his friend to have fun, joking and flirting with, not as his girlfriend while Yukimura always being like that more fit to be his loyal 'subordinate'


This is why I'm looking forward to the PSP game, hoping they can explore each girls to make interesting story how they can end up with Kodaka even it won't be canon ^^

Basically Yozora was late because she was embarrassed to be wearing girlish clothes in front of Kodaka. The reason why she's wearing them is because she wanted to confess to him that she's a girl, but didn't think Kodaka would be believe her if she didn't do this much.

Kodaka does say "What did you say?" in answer, but the narration says he didn't physically hear the words Rika said due to the wind.

I'll concede the last two lines of the chapter says he DOES know what Rika is saying, and he realised the turth of those words a while ago though.

Always had this theory she's from a (now defunt?) yakuza family (another trope tsk tsk) hence the
- boyish preference when young
- mother talks about friendship and loyalty
- 'night'

And...when the deliquent meets the parents, you know, he'll be recognised as the perfect husband..

Though I hope it doesn't go that way as it's a bit too much - then you have the gothlolibroconblondetwintailheterochromia Kobato, I guess the tropes are all intentional.

I could come to terms with her, but I still wouldn't like her in the slightest. No matter what problems/etc you have in life you don't treat people, children especially, they way that she did/does.

As for the ongoing topic, my 'favorite' would be Rika, though there's a snowballs chance in hell that'll happen. It's true she would be a great friend character, but honestly after my 30 some odd years of life, 12 of which involved in married life, I can honestly say I'd go for a friend type character first these days. None of that is an acceptable excuse to me. Also no one stops her due to the fact that Yoroza would turn on them instead, and frankly none of them have the balls(alt: Social skills) to deal with it.

I know, I know this is all supposed to be funny/non-realistic/etc, but I guess real life experience has led me to detest any behavior like that. In the end I guess I just find Yoroza to be an existence to be pitied, but not liked.

Although never being bullied, but I hate that behavior in real life so it made me hard to like Yozora though I also don't really hate her. I admit some of her antics indeed funny, but some are too much. The worst part for me is she did it to those whom close to her that can be considered, although she probably won't and never admit it, her friends.

Sena is a bitch to people outside but she's pretty much this clumsy and adorable girl inside her circle while Yozora is the opposite, a mean and manipulative to people inside her circle but a shy and quiet girl outside her circle. And since Haganai revolves around Rinjibu circle, in this case it personally hard for me to hate Sena since the bitch part of her is rarely shown
