I can't think of a game I've anticipated more than Street Fighter IV, loving those character demos too, nice to see multiple taunts, win poses as well as alternate costumes will be available. Also going to have remix themes from sf2 for rival matches. At this stage I'm thinking of maining Cammy and/or Sakura but I'll probably fall back onto Ken like I always do.

Well, I'm no Street Fighter fan, but the game looks interesting. If I'm not mistaken, the fight still takes place on a 2 D plane, right?

Yep it does. It also plays similar to SSFII turbo and has the new "focus attack" system.

LOL Good grief. I doubt Britney would last long in a fight.

Me and my mate had days off work today so after going (and losing) to the car auctions we headed off to Crown Casino in Melbourne which had 4 Street Fighter IV machines. All I can say is this game is fucking awesome, we both spent $18 (9 credits worth) over a few hours, had fun playing against each other and anybody else playing.

God this can't come out on console soon enough, also really thinking of buying one of those arcade sticks now.

Looks like the Alternate Costumes are DLC, I hope they are reasonably priced.. also it seems that Sakura's alt is going to be something like Yuri's from KOF.

Also anyone else purchasing one of the arcade sticks coming out with this, going to go with the SE Fightstick myself.

controllers are much easier to use but hurt the finger tips unless using the analog

for me i like the kof characters more than sf cause i find sf characters more friendly and easier to use like most of the characters have the same commands

and i havn't tried guilty gear yet

Not really and even if it was it's only because people are used to pads.

yeah my thumb always gets blistered up using dual shock dpads.... I don't even want to think what a 360 pad would do to it.

One of the main reasons I'm getting a stick is so my left thumb doesn't get blistered up, that as well as being able to get use to arcade controls. Even though I'll be playing online I still want to go to the few arcades in my area with Sf IV.

I find it easier to pull off more complicated motions with a stick. Plus it's easier to hit multiple buttons simultaneously. If you've ever tried to play as Akira in Virtua Fighter with a pad you'll know what I mean.

Do I just play more on a pad than most of the people here? I haven't had a thumb blister for years, as I've developed a solid enough callus that it's no longer an issue for me to play on a variety of pads (SNES, Microsoft Sidewinder v. 1, PSX, Dualshock, Wii Classic Controller).

I play on controller all the time and I've only gotten maybe one or two blisters, but that was when I was a kid.

glad no one has the carpal tunnel syndrome or lose grip due to using d-pads.

But yes the sores of my thumbs are still here and intact form all that video gaming in the 90's.

Eh I put in work on the psx and SFZ3.. over 200 hours and most of that in versus mode, Street Fighter had a good following in my high school and I was the second best player of my year level the best being a good friend of mine, (might catch up with him with SF IV comes out lol) Still got blisters a lot even with that much play....

And in SF 4 you need to hit multiple buttons simultaneously, LP + LK to throw, MP + MK to Focus Attack, HP + HK to taunt, Two buttons to do ex moves, three buttons to do ultras. Just so much easier on a stick imo.

Also if anyone has their eye on a TE stick I would just go for the normal one and than upgrade the stick and buttons with Sanwa parts later on, save yourself a lot of money that way. Of course the TE sticks are all sold out but they will probably release more...
