Yeah, it's something that's for sure. Good thing they didn't forget about it. Really want to see a truly fleshed-out AB.

Me too I wonder if they will have a release date or elude to one. I'm guessing they don't want a Clannad fiasco again where it was delayed for years XD. So they won't say for sure.

Don't worry, you'll have at least another 2 years once it comes out before it's in English.

That said, I love how they put both Yuri and Saya on the cover since they have the same VA.

One thing that doesn't bode too well, according to Yaraon: there is an actual "volume 1" mention... I really can't see Maeda doing multiple release for AB considering how exhausted he described himself regarding scenario writing back from Clannad/LB period.

Still, spring 2014 sounds rather "early" after all the complete lack of update thus far.

Oh good. The earlier news about it being a "social game" had a lot of people thinking it'd be some stupid cell phone app. Either that's a separate project or "social game" means something like Persona.

If its a VN then why does it have a Vol 1 in it? will it has separate route? like the story for each girl then the true story would be in another disc.... that will kill the fun if the story isn't complete.

They may be experimenting with smaller episodic releases. Basically, this lowers the entry barrier/cost commitment (i.e. there's some belief that younger people have flocked to light novels, which offer similar types of stories at a low cost) and addresses concerns over the shrinking VN market.

Rewrite didn't even get an ero version, did it? Then again, Yuri's VA isn't foreign to the ero industry, so there's always that 1% chance I guess.

I've taken the sub-forum out of retirement given the nature of the news about the game series, since I think it may spawn new interest in the anime (and may, in fact, possibly spawn a new anime, but that's total speculation on my part).

Angel Beats will be a PC Game series released in 6 volumes (apparently they wanted to release it on Vita as well)
Otonashi will be the main character
The amount of CG in the first volume alone rivals Clannad
They intend to use the same voice cast as the anime
The first volume will cover roughly up to Episode 10 in the anime (which is mostly the common route), and subsequent volumes will cover various routes
The first volume will cover Masami, Matsushita, and Yui
The first volume is currently scheduled for Spring 2014, with subsequent volumes planned for every six months.
When you install volume 2 forward on the same PC as the previous volumes, characters' conversations will change
Your decisions will also modify Otonashi's personality (including his sexual orientation, how stupid he is, etc.)
All the main characters on the front (men and women) will get routes, but they won't all get (romantically) involved with Otonashi
There will be mini-games, but it's not an RPG.
Na-ga is the art supervisor, but there will be many artists working on the game
Jun Maeda remains in charge of the scenario
There will be a new character to support Otonashi help everyone "graduate"

(Comment: This is interesting in that the head of VA has commented previously about ideas of doing serialized games at a lower price to try to appeal to a broader market, so I'll be interested to see how it's priced and released.)
