track 4 is boring... i hate when ranka sings like that.... makes me want to sleep...zzzZZZ

track 7 : unknown....>.<..but it looks promising...for a christmas song...

Someone has uploaded "Macross Frontier - Cosmic Cuune" as a torrent on the internet a day ahead of release schedule.
It's legit as I have listened to the whole thing.

Track 5 rocks. True Sheryl at her best.

Track 7 "Merry Christmas without you" is a group effort song with characters from the series singing. Mostly it's Sheryl and Ranka but other character pipe up from time to time. It's basically a feel good Xmas song. Might make more sense once the English translation hits.

*snip*

P.S. Back in the day when MF was still being released I've wanted them to compile just the music in concert video format with animation. Kind of like a Music Video DVD.
Well the fact that they have makes me very happy. Can't wait for "Macross Frontier Music Clip Collection Nyan Cli"

My copy was shipped out on Sunday, so there's no surprise it's on the net already.

I did, but I tacked on a couple other things to the order that might be causing delay.

I do not keep rankings for most things, including singers for the most part, but if I did, Megumi would have just jumped several places. She's expanded her range and capabilities significantly since she did the series. For a christmas album this is surprisingly good, but with Yoko Kanno involved we can generally expect that.

Both of May'n/Sheryl's solo songs are absolutely beautiful. Pretty much all the songs are rather. I particularly liked Songbird, Phantom Light, Sailor, and Tablet. Also Seikan Eve interestingly enough, I think they used a minor key.

Bit of a lack of rocking out, but this is very much a mood album where that wouldn't have been terribly appropriate, so it is forgiven.

Also amused they threw in some speaking lines for Sheryl and Ranka into Merry Christmas Without You just to get Aya in there.

Posting links to download such material is against the forum rules.

I agree with everything you said. 8D

Also, Aya deserves more credit when it comes to Sheryl, she gets eclipsed by May'n too much (understandable but still... XD)

P.S. I want the full Diamond Crevasse listened here D'X :

I also placed my pre-order about a week ago, so it's probably too soon or something. >>

So pretty! *A* I second that full version request!
I didn't initially want to see the May'n movie, but if it has the full version of acoustic Diamond Crevasse, I'd watch it.

Yeah the acoustic version is beautiful. Hopefully we'll see a release of it, like a live album.

My Cosmic Cuune album still has not yet shipped. D:
And neither has Utada's Single Collection, vol. 2. TAT

In the meantime, I'll enjoy clear~

His cover is better than I had initially expected when I first came across the video. : ) I hope he does more Macross covers in the future (It looks like he does mostly Vocaloid covers, especially as Kaito. His album, Dearest, has good covers, too.).

It's better than I expected too, though fairly conservative. May'n screams through most of the original while the singing here is a lot more subdued. But this isn't bad really. Northern Cross isn't an easy song.

His singing is definitely more subdued than May'n, but I think it's because clear is limited to recording covers in his home/apartment, rather than in a studio with soundproof walls like May'n. I remember reading something about Dasoku having a "sound-proof" apartment because he's more liberal with his vocal power and volume. :P

That makes me snicker. He should borrow a page from the Basara Book of Singing.
