It's only $8, or there about. Less than what you'd pay for lunch!

How do you guys deal with enemy boarders? I can handle missiles, lasers, drones, etc... no sweat, but boarders always screw me up badly. There are no sentry guns, and my crew appear to be made of jello when fighting enemy crew.

Cheers.

If you're lucky you can fight them at the health station. Usually you can fight them until your health drops low, run away and heal, repeat.

  • The Torus ship has Engi Med-bot Dispersion augmentation that enables you to constantly heal all your units on the ship at a reduced speed. *(but you start with Engineers who have reduced attack)
  • It is necessary to upgrade the door to level 2 on the subsystem menu.
  • Certain races are good at combats and others are not - Mantis for damage and Rock for health
  • The intruder will always take the shortest route to shield/weapon room during combat and lifesupport during noncombat. Just calculate the path a bit and lead them to the medical bay where you have upper hand.
  • Once you see that they have a boarding device, open doors leading to unmanned rooms to suffocate them.
  • There are also drones and self target weapons that could help.
  • Boarding device allows you to easily level up some of your crew member's fighting skills.

-I usually play Torus and grab 1-2 Mantis. Oh and boarding gives you extra scrap if you kill everyone on the ship without destroying the ship.
-As for the game in general, it is pretty easyto get a hang of. In one of my playthroughs I got a pretty good combination of an entirely level capped crew with shield and weapon augmentation. Having like 40% cooldown reduction on your shields makes the game pretty easy until you get to about sector 8, and especially when you have ion weapons which shoots 45% faster.

Just beat it for the first time, on easy as well. Did it with the Kestrel (default available ship) . I think I had some overall nice luck with getting lots of scrap and equipment to sell. Ended up with full (4) shields, almost full ftl engine (46% dodge or so) and 2x burst laster mk II as well as a glaive beam (which is a beast). After the several phases I was down to approx. 25% hull, though.
