Luscinia.....Angel....

My mental image of him just suffered irreparable damage....

And I think he has to be the most socially obtuse person on the planet lolol

I'm surprised Glacies actually sent participants

Anyone else felt that those war scenes resembled the sack of Berlin by the Red Army?

Who will carry on the old Empress' dream now....Alauda seems more moderate than Luscinia, will he turn in future?

Seriously where do Guilders get their physical abilities from....

Damn another cliffhanger ep... the flashback was good, it was nice to know the background of Lukia, but still i would have like if the story goes further without cliffhangers...

I think the scene with Farahnaz and the bracelet were very telling. Instead of counting prayers she's counting the sins she's committed, and tells Liliana it's a habit. Despite her kindness in this episode, I think that scene reflects more than anything that she was never always that way - and considering things like Kartoffel existing and Chaos already being annexed, those things were happening before the Grand Race. How much was Farahnaz involved in prior to all of that? She's well loved by many, you can tell in this episode, but I hope more things about the past prior to the Grand Race are revealed soon!

I agree with you here. Farahnaz doesn't see herself as a Saint and she knows the things she's done in the past are not over from haunting her.

The episode really left open the issue of where do the Guilds fit into things? Farahnaz says her bodyguards are angles from the sky, so I have to wonder if they were on loan to her from a Guild or was she really a Maestro or what? Just as interesting was Sadri looking at the picture of a unidentified woman.

The official website's glossary has been updated. Is anybody here able to read moon? I'm curious about what it says about the "angels who've come from a land of a white sky to protect me" line - online translators are only so specific and they mention the Guild and such. :P

Spoiler for Text here for reference.:

Right with you and stormwaltzing on Farahnaz, I think they portrayed her very effectively.

Spoiler:

Looking forward to more.

Oh man speaking of the bracelet stormwaltzing, the new meaning behind how Farahnaz was using it to count her sins, what I noticed way back starting at the beginning several times about Luscinia now potentially makes sense too and is somewhat like I'd theorized as a possibility. It's exactly like Luscinia messing with his similar bracelet multiple times during parts where he was acting unlike his old self and also when thinking about Farahnaz, like during the meeting scene where they were looking at the map in ep 3 when we first saw inside of Ades and when they moved on to discussing the event for the late Farahnaz. Nice detail on following through on that and what it likely means for him too.

Interesting musings on Sadri possibilities.

More highly interesting Guild mysteries/clues.

YUP. When she was messing with the one she had it was like. OH I REMEMBER THAT!

Then she explained the sin-counting thing. And it was like.

........... oh. Well that answers that!!

But I am curious to learn more about events even prior to Fam - especially from her POV. And considering Sara ... exists, her father as well? But then it's like. Welp with Travelers and Fam there are still SO MANY THINGS TO TOUCH ON (the Guilds, I am still never shutting up ever until I finally get my Dio recovery info I've waited 9 years for it GONZO!!, general things about Anatoray's settlement and Glacies has to be fleshed out more ... on top of the whole general story, gah!)

On a side note, and this may be stretching it a bit...but does some of the Federation characters remind you of characters from Full Metal Panic? Sorush=Kurz (the most obvious comparison), his best friend Orang=Sousuke (mannerisms and complete with facial scar), Sara=Tessa (the way she acts and the way people act around her), Sadri=Kalinin, Kayvan=Mardukas, just to name the most obvious ones to me.

"According to an interview or notes placed in the Last Exile art book Aerial Log, Dio Eraclea was picked up by a passing Guild ship after he fell from his vanship. "

There? That's all I know about that. I don't think they'll be elaborating on it except if it's in Hourglass.

Translation:

Farafanaz's intro to Liliana of Luschinia and Alauda.

Luschinia and Alauda were called "Twins" and served as Farafanaz's escorts.

They appear to have been sent by the Guild that exists in the sky.

At the time when they arrived, due to emotional instability, they were both poor but Farafanaz taught them both how to live as humans and gradually, their buried feelings sprouted.

The first line is simply the quoted sentence.

Liked how the starting line of the race had the repeating bit from the Norkia race song.

Hmm while I hadn't purposefully thought about it before except probably for Sorush (can see the Orang/Sousuke sort of similarity with them now in their two types and how they get along) and Sadri, yeah I could see where that feeling could come from in some fashion for each of them.

I have to say I think they've been doing a surprisingly great job so far towing the tough line between having the generals be on the antagonist side and still likable/respectable and I'm always interested in seeing more of them.

This seems to be quite true if we're able to get any feelings of characters like those who were on the hero side in FMP from them, I think that's good work and not easy to do.

Ahhhhhh, nice catch! I'd been wondering why the episode showed us this, sure they showed us almost all the cast more for fun than anything else (although I hadn't been expecting that Glacies had only become isolationist in the past 10 years) so I was wondering why they showed that locket. Looking at a screenshot of it, don't think this needs spoilers since it's speculation, she does look a bit like Fam and the general's green eyes were highlighted in this episode so I wonder if Fam might be Sadri's granddaughter or niece.

I can't imagine that they won't elaborate on it at least a little bit in Hourglass but I doubt that any of it will show up here/show up any time soon in Hourglass.

I really enjoyed this episode it was great to see the first and last grand race was suppose to be a symbol of lasting peace only to turn in a tragedy. It appears that even in the past Ades was not very well liked by some nations. Its easy to see how the Faranhaz message was taken to the extreme after her assassination and its to see why her each and everyone of generals are fanatically loyal. Even a message of hope can be taken to the extreme and turn into bloodshed similar to radical religious belief, its not the message its how one interprets that message.

I also find it interesting that all the major players were present and seem to have met before only to end allies or in direct conflict with one another in the present. Fam sure has not changed much neither has Giselle lol. I think we also are getting a look at why Liliana has chosen the path she is currently on and why she might have chosen of her own free will to go with Luschinia they had a connection from the very start. Its seem Faranhaz was the only person capable of restraining Luschinia and when she died he snapped and well here we are.

There were so many hints thrown into this one episode my head was spinning especially the picture Sadri was looking at. Genealogy is going to get very interesting in this series and peoples roles become more clear. Also, the identity of the assassins would also shed some light on that time period. Faranhaz stated that she was counted her sins on prayer beads after she was shot the assassin stated the dictator (at least that's what i got from translation) is dead. Obviously every country has enemies but im suspecting given the talk of annexation the assassins were from the country previously mentioned during the discussion in the hallway.

Crazy excited about the next episode as the story has finally moved within Glacies's boarders with Fam and gang covered in blankets being taken somewhere. Im very anxious to see the fate of the Dio and the crew of the Silivus and the exactly how much damage Ades dealt to the Sky Pirates and Giselle's family the last scene was not a good one.

I also find it funny that Glacies is known also as having some of the worlds hottest girls lol.

Oh yeah, everyone pretty much has that info now. But I mean touching on more of the specifics from the last episode. The brainwashing, the memory recovery (he obviously remembers everything, but how quickly/slowly did it happen? He was still kind of crackers when he fell because he thought he was still early on in the series), finding out what exactly happened after the brainwashing (does he remember anything after that at all?), general interactions with the rest of the cast post first series, finding out what happened to Delphine/the Guild/what Exile IS, that kind of thing.

Great episode. It's kind of, I don't know, cliche? that everyone already met before 10 years ago, but I guess it's possible as people come from all over to see the grand race. Maybe they did and I missed it, but I hope it's elaborated on why the terrorist wanted to kill Farafanaz, and why there was so little security that several ships full of armed men could just roll up on so many important people with no resistance.

And yes, Glacies is S tier for hot chicks it seems. So much so that they locked themselves away to keep such treasures to themselves.

I think Dio was probably using the word "maestro" loosely and Faranhaz could have acted as the head of the local guild I suppose.
