Yes, his ship sinks right at the fortress. Of course nobody bothered to scavage/check out the ship to see if there were any survivors/prisoners. So while Sorush was sitting there in a pile of exploding parts of his ship in plain sight of everyone to see, he takes his time to repair his ship and gather a fleet of ships right under everyone's nose.

Of course, as soon as everyone else launches, he quietly, like a ninja, launches afterwards and attacks the 1st fleet, even though he has no idea what the political situation is or the fact that Sara was taken away. Wait, what side is he supposed to be on? Hmmm... He'll team up with the side that blew him up the last time instead of the side he has always been on. Since well, you know, he's been listening on the radio... wait, they don't have radios. Well, we can add psychic abilities to Sorush as well.

And before anyone says he could have spies out, if he did, he would have used them to inform everyone else in order to rescue and recover him since they were supposed to have been at peace at that point.

The writers for this series truly amazes me at how much they can force anything they write through and expect the viewers to just take it at face value without thought or reason (well, at least any good reason).

I finally watched this episode and it was awesome! Too many great things were happening. The Grand Exile. Millia taking command of the Silvius. The return of Sorush. Anataory reinforcement arrives! Sophia!! The Silvana, Urbanus and Silvius fighting side by side! Dian dealing with those Starfishes! Amazing! And don't forget the cameo of Dagobert and Wina.

Can't wait to see the finale and here's hoping to see Claus and Lavie.

PS:After hearing "Starboard [Silky Wind ver.]" by Hitomi again there's a chance the song might be sung in english.

Im not gonna lie the only thing i liked about this episode was Sophia finally arriving and looking smoking HOT aboard the Silvana. The Silvius and the Silvana fighting side by side with the Anatoray-Disith fleet tore threw the first fleet like paper. I also liked how Tatiana was back in a vanship where she belongs and Millia commanding the Silvius was a sight and she actually did a good job.

Honestly, the episode felt rushed like they just wanted to get through it. I was somewhat disappointed

Think it's possible that it might be what the Earth Guild was trying for when Claus, Lavie, and Alvis encountered the Guild on Earth in the Hourglass Traveler manga? That they should submit to them?

Now the series is coming to an end, I have to say I'm extremely disappointed by the small role the old cast has had to play. I thought Alvis in particular would be far more relevant. I'm also disappointed with the writing of the past few episodes. It seriously pales in comparison to the first series. I really loved the beginning of the series (save for that Gisey episode... ugh) and was delighted beyond words Last Exile got such a good sequel, then the last half of the series happened... The only saving grace left is Millia. She's definitely the best character of the series.

Depending on how the show ends next week, Fam may join the ranks of these sequels I like to pretend don't exist. Please don't make Fam win by simply lecturing Luscina.
Perhaps we should rename "Last Exile: Fam The Silver Wing" to" Last Exile: Millia The Silver Wing"...

Funi subs are out. I guess I didn't missed out on anything from watching the RAW and getting all the explanations here.

Sophia arriving was the big thing indeed. As someone mentioned before, she's smoking hot in that uniform.

As I ranted yesterday, I dunno WTF the writers were thinking by bringing Sorush back. If they wanted a capable fleet to fight alongside the 3rd Fleet against Sadri's 1st Fleet, Vasant was the commander of the 5th Fleet which was described as the group of ships making the Ades capital virtually untouchable. Sorush... who gives a damn about him? This character had nothing to be written about any further; zero purpose IMO.

It's not like I expected Vasant to survive, but I expected her to be the one ending Lusciana's madness while having at least something left to say to Sara before kicking the bucket. Until further notice, Vasant was Sara's surrogate mother to say the least and a suitable death would have been for her to take down Lusciana with her just like when Alex took Delphine down with him.

The writers really missed something here.

When I watch the sub I'm just going to ignore any scene with Sorush. The episode will be much better that way.

Sounds plausible, but it works.

So his remaining 4th fleet ships dissapeared without trace since we never saw them again until now. How did the Ades let that slip by?

Yeah, I have a strong feeling that Fam is going to talk him down so when Luscinia gives up and puts his guard down, Dian comes in and shoots him down. Then the Silvana uses it's big cannon that took Delphine's ships and takes out the core of the Grand Exile causing a huge explosion thus killing Sadri in the process.

I don't think Sadri is going to die. He needs to tell Fam that she is his grand-daughter first. Fam is going to convince Luscinia to give up wiping people out and instead, instigate another Grand Race so that people will smile. All the while, everyone else will plot to kill one another just like the first Grand Race. I'm sure Luscinia will have forgotten all about that by now and agree with Fam that a Grand Race is a must to bring true world peace.

Comes out on 3/28

As I said before, loved pretty much absolutely everything about this episode, it was so good!

Aside from the Sorush thing which unlike some others didn't do much for me either favorably or negatively, there must have been a reason they chose him though, perhaps they'll tell us eventually in interviews or something since he's a bit of surprising choice, especially over just having Vasant survive until now instead...perhaps they felt it would be too one-sided in deaths if we didn't lose someone we really were rooting for like Vasant (and rooting for her continuing to be there for Sara)(On the bright side, fortunately at least there's no way Sara will be alone even without her as it's not like Fam, Gisey and/or Millia won't make sure to be able to be there for her in the future).

Yeah, that would have been awesome if they used Vasant in some way taking inspiration from Alex's removal of Delphine (god that was so good, I loved how spontaneous and "surprising" it was that that was how it happened, still one of the best executed villain deaths I've ever seen), I was expecting Vasant to be there at Luscinia's end in some fashion like that.

Totally agree on Sophia

I didn't find it all that rushed but maybe that was due to my subconscious expectations of the odd runtime of 21 eps rather than 24, still I can't really imagine them "just wanting to get through it" with what they included. Ofcourse that's not say it wasn't quick at all, I wouldn't have minded an extended version of this battle over 3 eps instead of 2 if they'd been able to do 22 eps instead of 21 and extended all of the great parts even longer though I don't know if they would have anyway (like the part between the Silvana's awesome entrance and the Silvius going on ahead, since it was great and a bit more dialogue between the two ships would have been cool) but I don't think it was all that rushed overall plus either way pretty much almost every finale I've ever seen aside from maybe Bebop's comparatively small-scale finale seems to face at least some rushing, even numerous 50+ ep shows (over twice the runtime of Last Exile) somehow do(!), I think this ep as the first part of the finale was pretty nicely paced for how utterly packed with awesome it was.

I do hope they bypass the OP for next week's finale as some shows do, I think this is a show that could use the extra minute or two gain to show and cover as much as possible.

Not too many of the good guys died in the original Last Exile BTW. The good guy who died had an entire quest for vengeance against Delphine. In that same line, we have Dian who was consumed by vengeance for a long time and she would have been a worthy sacrificial lamb considering how she's is in the inner circle of top protagonists.

Speaking of that unborn prospect of Vasant killing Lusciana while the former is also mortally wounded, I was also thinking of the scene when Marius Bassanius, (the loyal advisor; does that ring any bells?) fought against the Emperor because the senile old man ordered his own daughter and heiress to the throne to be killed. Since it was a matter of making way rightfully for the next generation, Vasant was in better position to accomplish that. As I previously wrote, it would have been good if there was something left for Vasant to say to Sara before she goes into that duel to the death against Lusciana.

Retake the Exile! Make them patch the ending with an OVA by donating in droves to some charity that brings Anime to disabled kids!

It's just unfair!!

An episode like this one should have started about seven episodes ago to signal the beginning of a serious drama arc; this is, of course, the start of the last story arc.

Spoiler:
