Cell from DBZ is probably the only one I recognize the most, and when the one character I recognize the most from a list of roles is a character I thought was total douchebag, it doesn't really help. And I've only been an anime fan for 3 years now so that may have something to do with it.

The gundere is wearing the mask she wore at the end of the episode where she's blowing up goat-kun repeatedly...after he comes back from the bathroom. We see Mio's sister in the same mask earlier in the episode.
As for Wakamoto, he is termed as "god" partly because of his role in Azumanga Daioh, as "Chiyo-chan's father" which is some kind of cat-like/god-like creature that inhabits Osaka and Sakaki's dreams. Also I assume because of his commanding voice in so many other things (Code Geass for example).

Not only Wakamoto. There is more veteran seiyuus in this episode.
Osamu Saka (Aramaki from Ghost in the shell series, Sakaki from Patlabor series etc.) Tesho Genda (Sleggar from Gundam, Optimus Prime from Transformer, Sanders from 08 team, Ryu from Akira etc.) Hochu Otsuka (Yazan from Z Gundam, Mirao Kyao from L-Gaim etc.) Viva la 80-90's Robot anime. |

Well, if you want to compare comparable roles, here is one of his more iconic roles.
Onsokumaru: Spoiler for Tidiness:
And yes, if you enjoy random bizarro anime comedy, you must do yourself a favour and watch 2x2=Shinobuden. Cheers.

I think the reason is because: the only thing i remember about 2x2=Shinobuden is not the whacky humor, but that screen when Shinobu roll to aside, open up her futon to invite Kanade(?) in.... Just too HNGGG

Maybe I'm tripping...
No that would be normal for the rest of the show. Character development? Nano and Mio noticing each other. Cats and dogs living together (wait, no, that would be mass hysteria). Something plot-like with Mio's wooden blocks. Who put in sanity? That's not allowed...is it?

Well after the epic Deer wrestling, coin smashing and outdoor camping brawl of ep. 6. we get to a lighter humor of the daily life of the characters. Manaba's yearnings for sakurai. We also get a better sense of Nano' troubles and aspirations on being a normal girl.
The a cappella version of the ED is nice but still like the old version. |

This has been one of the best opening scenes for a gag anime I have ever seen. Not only because of the overall animation quality, but the hilarious situation the characters got involved into and the uncertainty of watching the right anime at first.
With all that said... Hi, I'm new. Nice to meet you all. |

And yeah the opening (you means the segment about "the wooden blocks" right? or was it the opining song?) was hilarious. I really laughed out loud when the ringleader trip and when the wooden block drop onto Mio
