Judging by its height, shape, and overall build, I'd say its based on the RX-93. The Sazabi's frame was much wider and much "thicker." The Sinanju is more streamlined. It has the Federation's design philosophy when it comes to mobile suit construction.

It's 25 meters tall, which means its the same height as the Sazabi. The RX-93 was slightly shorter than that (not sure by how much). But in terms of build, the Sinanju is basically the RX-93 in Zeon garb.

I wonder how tragic the anime will be. Wish I could read the novels to compare.

That being said, I hope that Laplace's Box does change something in this version. The history of UC as we know it is just too depressing for the Spacenoids.

Yeah nobody in the UC seems to catch a break, good or bad. I'm still waiting on either a Manga or anime that deals with Amuro and Chat, neither one was confirmed dead right?

Anyway I get the feeling this won't end well, several characters with death flags it seems to me.

Regardless, the Spacenoids did eventually achieve independence, since the Feddies more or less collapsed or disappeared in the late Universal Century era.

Besides, it is challenging to change something in the Universal Century without affecting the status of the later Gundam series, such as F91 and Victory Gundam.

I don't know. Given that the Zeta movies potentially wiped everything that came after, we might be seeing something similar here. For that matter, I don't necessarily wish for the Republic of Zeon to remain independent. I'm more of the basic rights of the Spacenoids to have representation in the Federation being upheld. Such a change doesn't necessarily affect everything else that came after.

Quite true.

In the final part of the series, the Nahal is on their own. They have nothing to lose expect the Unicorn as the Nahal is left crippled. So what they did is outfit it with literally everything they had on hand and let the Unicorn loose.

It was used during the final battle in the novel, so it's pretty important in the story.

That said I believe the model has extra weapons and gimmicks that are original, don't know if those would make it over to the OVA.
