Btw, anyone notice the sheer amount of humor in this episode?

I don't think I've ever seen that much humor in such a short time frame. The best stuff was Isshin jumping into Ichigo's room via trampoline and getting glass stuck in his rear end. Also, the scene where Inoue and Rukia show their drawings. Nothing but awesomeness.

Honestly, these two eps alone have been leagues better than the first few of the Bount arc, so I hold hope that this arc doesn't make me want to kill myself. Heh.

Ichi also gets dumber with his combat strategy in the fillers. Instead of work smarter not harder, he works harder not smarter. Slicing each hollow down one by one instead of wiping them all out with a few energy blast and he also seems weaker as well as a SS death god. ANYWAYS, good filler, hoping for some good not Bount crap!

I liked this episode. It brought back a lot of the humor that I missed in the Bleach world. Particularly in regard to Orihime and Rukia. Those two are a riot. Anyways, I'll just consider this a replacement or alternative story for the bount arc rather than it occuring after it (Especially considering the modified souls from that arc were nowhere to be seen here). But if it was stated otherwise let me know.

Definitely an original story, as they're peacefully living in Karakura, but Ishida has his new bow, suggesting that it's after the Vaizard training arc.

It had nearly everything a filler episode should have:
- Humour, that Isshin scene on the trampoline, never laughed so hard during Bleach.
- Pointless Bankai.
- Bad animation and I don't usually notice it all that much.
- 16:9 turns me on.

Like everyone says, this filler is great. I've never actually felt much satisfaction after watching a Bleach episode in ages. I think it's the fact that I didn't feel short changed by a lame cliffhanger.

If if doesn't happen in the manga it's filler, no matter how good it is. That's why it's called filler after all.

what was so bad about the animation? I thought it was pretty good for an episode with no real action.

It's not filling anything, it's just anime original. Calling it filler implies that it's just there in the presence of the "more important" manga episodes, and that's not giving them enough credit. It's not like the manga isn't the holy grail or anything.

And yes, I read the manga, so I'm not biased : D
