@eggplant:
Thanks much for the sypnosis. So, it's basically the second half of Tomoyo's route from the Clannad VN. Didn't expect them to fit that much in 25 mins though, so I'm quite surprised they managed to pull it off. Now I'm eagerly looking forward to its release in July.

Oh yeah, did they show
Spoiler for Sunohara:
during/after the timeskip?

Also, this special makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy, coz KyoAni gave Tomoyo some time in the spotlight after shafting her with her own episode. Sad, coz they apparently don't plan on doing the same to Kyou, seeing as she was shafted even more (in terms of focus, not screentime -- only 25% of her route is shown. In comparison, Fuko has 99.99%, Kotomi 95%, Nagisa 90%, and Tomoyo 50%.), with Ep17's shed scene (which isn't even part of her route) as our only compensation. Come on KyoAni, show off how well you can do angsty romance/drama by animating Kyou's full route.

But I don't want the anime to make me hate Kyou like the game did...

Although seeing Not Spineless Ryou would be adequate compensation...

Was anything mentioned about the length of the 2nd season or if anything about side character focus? I wouldn't expect the 2nd part to be ansered but any indication about length.

I didn't pay much attention to Sunohara, thereby not noticing anything in particular, althought a poster on 2ch., who also attended the event, pointed it out.

Nothing was mentioned about the second season, save that it's currently in its production stage. Even if the announcement for the premiere date is made (probably in August), I don't think we'll know of the episode count right away.

On another note, I'll attach a picture of the miniature calendar which was handed out to everyone in attendance.

Take a look at the calendar. Yes, the Japanese school calendar and many corporate fiscal calendars start in April, but it is listed up to next March, if it has any connotation at all.

Well, that probably doesn't have a big connotation, as every school calendar I've collected has been April to March. That being said, it's virtually assured that the show will air sometime in that timeframe regardless.

Remember the fact that Sunohara loves the Tenjou Tenge OP "Bomb A Head". I'm sorry if I'm slow, but Tenjou Tenge only started airing on April 1st, 2004, only weeks before the CLANNAD VN first came out (April 28, 2004). How the hell did they add that bit in at the very last minute?

AIR TV kept me in bed with fever for almost a week, and I still rewatch it.

Seriously, we got depressed all the time but we're still watching it, played it, etc etc, so yeah...

I have a general question. while I loved Clannad a friend of mine is looking for new anime to watch and she hasn't seen much of the new stuff. she loved Fantasy/Romances (like AMG, Rumbling hearts and such) and stuff that makes u BAWWWW
but she hates fan-service pretty much to every extent.....now I dont remember their being much fan-service in clannad? (dunno about ep 23 i havent seen it yet? or the movie?) but would clannad be a good recommendation for her? I dont recall their being much fan-service in it......do yall?

thx!

Sure, Clannad would probably be appreciated. I would recommend her not to watch the movie though since it dealt with the AS in about 15 - 20 minutes. Have her watch the TV series, then wait for Kyoto Animation's Clannad ~After Story~

Kyoto Animation's Clannad is an unfinished project though, and the After Story is really the entire point of the story. If I were you I'd get her to watch Air and Kanon as well since they're both, in my opinion, a lot stronger than what we've seen of Clannad so far, especially Air.

I can only remember the scene with Kyou in the locker room, and that scene is placed towards the end, so hopefully by then she will be engaged enough in the story to just overlook it

There is pretty much no fanservice at all in episode 23 either, if you're worried about that.

And that scene wasn't THAT bad anyway... PS: I saw the game-version of that scene on Youtube... They totally should have followed the game more closely in that one, it would make it even more hilarious than it already was.
Spoiler for Because...:
