Yea, well basically I first drawing in pencil, then go over in a thicker pen, then colour shade etc etc. I'm a huge amateur at this, I've only been drawing for two months. But I plan on taking classes that pertain to this etc.

Awesome, keep at it. ^^ Gonna second the reference lines suggestion. I got ten times better once I learned figure construction.

Actually I might post some of my doodlings and maybe a full CG I'm working on at some point. My Calc notes are currently adorned with chibi Bake characters. XD

Uh, I've only got about 10 non-repost images at this point... I'll imagedump in a few days...

OK... don't give up.

Get yourself 6H and 2H pencils for base work.

Practice with 2B and 4B pencils at some point... you'll be glad you did.

Use Pilot 0.7 black ink pens, but stay away from any water/juice will your work

Please take classes.

6H is a grade of pencil led hardness.

Look at an ordinary pencil and you will see HB on it

Sometimes 2HB

Those are middle range gen-purpose... not good for art work.

So

You have pencils that range from 2H to 8H that give very light lines despite how hard you press.. and they are very hard tips so they can easily damage cheap paper....

2B to 8B pencils are very soft and they creat very DARK lines and you have to be VERY careful how hard you press as they can get pitch black like charcoal.

Pilot is a brand of pen... made in japan.

They have excelent ink flow and tips

0.7 is the width of the line you get

you also have 0.5 or 0.2 etc

They're different pencil hardnesses. Softer pencils draw darker, harder pencils draw lighter.

Personally I never worried too much about it. I draw with whatever I have on hand. It's usually worked for me. XD

Oh, I use Micron pens. Then again it's been a while since I inked something...

Ah, I see now, thanks.

I assume it'd be better to order these things from a specialized site. There aren't to many art shops 'round here.

Well I did see something like 2B-8B in a store close to me, but that was pretty much it in the lines of serious artwork equipment, but I can definitely check again.

Thinking about Nadeko next....

Spoiler for GIF progress animation:

And for those who couldn't care less about what I drew today, have two chibis that I did not draw.

Hanekawa hasn't been getting much image love, at least not through my searchings... I need a chibi Hanekawa for my "Documents" icon on my desktop...

^Ah I think I see what you mean by reference lines.

Anyways, I think Hanekawa will have a lot more art during/after her arc.

the sisters both make a joke about switching ROLES on who's being Karen & who's being Tsukihi

Dragun H.E.X. posted this one in the Haruhi image thread and I though people would be interested about it here as well, specially since it shows that both Koyomi and Senjougahara are already popular characters.

I try to avoid reposts but no guarantees this time. ^^;;

For the comic... uhm... there's a lot of unfamiliar Kanji in there... at this rate I'll never learn anything but... so lazy... >>;;

It's something to do with Hachikuji saying what if Araragi-san was the main character in an eroge? And about how the characters have to be 18+ or something, and I guess what it amounts to is she's saying she couldn't be part of his harem 'cause she's just a grade schooler but Araragi's like, don't worry Hachikuji, in eroge it's possible for there to be an 18 year old grade schooler, to which Hachikuji is like, lolwut, and Araragi's like, well I wouldn't want a Hachikuji end anyway, and Hachikuji's like, what's up with that line, and Araragi's like, well I've already captured the most difficult character.

And yes, half that paragraph was guesswork.

In the meantime!
Spoiler for Progress:

EDIT:
Spoiler for Moar progress:

EDIT2:
Spoiler for If anyone cares...:

It takes practice to get used to the hand-eye-coordination, but it's infinitely better than a mouse.
