You remember all those worms around the poor little child ?... remember how the old man put some of those inside Kariya ?? well the body of the old fellow have a lot lot more inside thus making it very hard to kill. See ?? there's no spoiler for fate/zero and no spoilers for FSN? seriously ?? no spoilers from it would mean to chat about the awesome stills and colored backgrounds I mean later on when we reach some battles for example where the links with FSN will be obvious we wont be able to talk about it ?. |

I guess it is time to make a second warning regarding this matter but:
Do -not- post future events and details from either F/SN or F/Z. The fact F/Z is aired after SN doesn't mean everyone already has watched it (few people indicated they didn't, at least). These details include Servants identity, plot progression etc... even if things can be determined in advance due to F/SN story, they will be considered as spoilers.

Finally had the time to watch. A very slow episode, understandable as the introduction, but the servant summoning at the end was pretty fucking impressive. Seeing Saber again made me giddy.
Of course, it's gonna be a while before I come to terms with Waver's version of Rider...

http://myanimelist.net/anime/10087/Fate/zero That said, great start to the Fate/Zero anime! I've been longing of the history behind the last Holy Grail War and with not much known , this will be great. Animation quality is also superb as well. Looking forward to this ^_^

echoing what others has mentioned to death.
Kariya is one of the most saddest tragic hero i've ever seen, heck how long is he on screen in this episode? and that already made me have "take all my money, go find your happiness, you deserve it" kind of feeling. Props to ufotable for the kariya/sakura "bye-bye" scene, making it as sad and dramatic without sounding extremely cheesy. This episode is a good example of how to intertwine everything without making it into a big pile of mess, which many anime studio seems to fail in doing so. Almost every major magi/player in fate zero has exposition in this episode, we can already grasp most of their intention and ambition in the holy grail war. the last 5 minutes and the summoning scene made me overly excited for what will be coming more in the future, combination of both ufotable and yuki kajiura is an overkill in terms of creating a total epic scene, hope this continues in the future *finger crossed* I dont really get the whole interest of people on waver, what i felt from his character is that he's like our avatar in this holy grail war, but hey different people different taste.

Just watched the 1st ep of F/Z and......Whoa.
The animation, music and length, i thought i was watching an anime movie but it wasn't. This was an anime series episode....and it was gorgeous! So this is the prequel to FSN and how the 4th war lead to the events of the 5th war ten years later. The characters are interesting in their own way and in some ways you understand why they all fighting for, either for pride, family honor, a noble cause, love ones or a purpose in their life. The character that i'm most interested with is Emiya Kiritsugu, husband of Iris, father of Illya and later foster father of the hero of FSN, Shiro. I like to see how a man who is ruthless and pragmatic like him taught Shiro to be a hero of justice. While the war is about who will win the Holy Grail but it's also a battle of difference of ideals between the characters. The old generation vs the new generation. The honorable vs the pragmatic. Skilled by blood vs skilled by hardwork. Fighting for a noble cause vs fighting for a selfish cause. Those seeking glory vs those seeking meaning and redemption in their lives. Well i look forward to the next episode now that 5 Servants have already been summoned and see their interactions with their masters. PS: I have read about Sakura and the crest worms and thought it was something like a parasitic worm. But instead, i got to see the real horror of what those worms really are and what they do! Good God! Poor Sakura, no wonder why she's messed up in FSN. And lol, Rin has always been a Tsundere since she was little. Quote:

Out of curiosity:
In any of the Fate/Stay stories, do they ever mention if it is possible for a person to be summoned into more than 1 class? As in, Gilgamesh into the Saber class instead of archer class? Since many of the heroes use more than one weapon and in many cases, primarily use a weapon of a different class. |

If people need a reminder of what movie animation looks like I suggest looking @ sakuga vids for Redline... I'm just going to convince myself that 2ch were just trolling the president of that company that said Steins;Gate had movie like animation. "Movie quality" must be a meme or something! The art is superb, hopefully the animation comes to the party in the next couple of episodes. |

The lines/chants we hear from the magus during the summoning process are not even needed in the first place but just as the relics its something that helps in the process. That's the reason why Kiritsugu came up with those lines he told during his summoning of Saber, he was worried that even with the relic their personalities could be so different to the point the summon would fail. |

Still, picking which heroic spirit is much easier than picking the class. Also, in theory, since the heroic spirits are all outside of time and the servants are actually materialized copies of the true heroic spirit, there's no reason why a particular heroic spirit can't be summoned into multiple classes. However, this hasn't actually occurred so there could be hidden reason (i.e., Nasu hasn't thought about it yet) why it can't happen. Last edited by ChronoReverse; 2011-10-03 at 11:01. |
