Actually, that's her Armed Device.

Her Storage Device is the Tome of the Night Sky replica; and for completeness sake, Reinforce-Zwei is her Unison Device.

Technically speaking, Hayate has four Devices since R-Zwei comes with her own Storage Device, the Tome of the Azure Sky.

The only Device-types that Hayate is lacking are the Intelligent Device and the Boost Device.

One of the advantages of using Storage Devices is that they are supposedly better at processing magic than Intelligent Devices (since you know, they don't need to waste space on having a sentient AI).

Considering how the anime likes to display Super Weapon General Hayate, I'm full ready and willing to believe that.

The downside of course, is that she doesn't have the aid of an intelligent device in battle to cast reflexive spells (such as defenses or -in Subaru's case- Wing Road) whenever they're in trouble.

Unless Rein has such a function.
