The first pre-owned figure I get (received the parcel on 2 days ago but just opened the box by about a hour ago):

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Beside some scratches on the case plus the box looks a bit yellowish, overall the entire thing doesn't looks very bad for A/B rated (pre-owned) items(?) at AmiAmi. Likely to get some-more pre-owned figures (that I want) on future.

New Snow Miku nendo

I just wonder how can they still call this a 'Snow' Miku when it looks like a mahou shoujo from Campanella?

Finally get my hands on the Hitagi nendoroid yesterday.

GSC decided to make a hold in the back of her hair instead of the usual hole in the back. So that makes it hard to set up as you need to attach the hair first to the stand before you attach the hair and head to the rest of the body.

I'm loving all the Yamato 2199 figures.

Even ordered Captain Okita!

^The proto looks amazing, but considering it's Phat! Company, I'm gonna wait to see the final product.
They're notorious for botching up paint jobs :/

Really stupid question, but there is a very serious cold wave in Canada atm (-40 Celsius) and one of my shelves is propped next to a window-there are thus 2-3 Nendoroids who are a bit cold at the touch. Not icy, just cold, like, say, something out of the freezer.

The question is, can cold damage them ?

Cold should be fine. In fact, freezing figurines is one of the methods you're supposed to use to get rid of pvc chemical residue buildup that occurs in more humid/hot weather conditions. Just make sure you don't have huge temperature shifts (ie, don't put a heater next to them when it's really cold).

Well, since it's 2014, is there any "figure of the year" contest somewhere?
(I remember one site a few years ago)

Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of LED light strips to get for a cabinet?

I'm not really liking the circle lights that I got at Ikea. They give off the ugly yellow-ish light and don't illuminate my figures like I'd like them to. Light strips go all around them so you can see all the features easily. Plus they give off the more attractive white light.

I went to walmart and tried some, but they're in a thick tube that's too bulky for my cabinet.

IKEA's Dioder light strips USED to be cool white, but since two years ago IKEA replaced all of them with yellow warm-white, making it less ideal for anime figurines.
(There are exceptions, realistically painted statues or natural colors do look quite good under the warm white)

I've been using these guys LED strip kits, which work very similar to Dioders
http://www.barlighting.com/led-strip-kits-s/1818.htm

They give you a choice of warm or cool, and the LEDs are brighter and longer in length than Dioder. The only con is that it's not compatible with Dioder connections, and the cords to the switch is much shorter.

Make sure and use "cool white" for most anime figurines.

I've taken these pictures and posted them a while back, here's the comparison between the above strip kit and IKEA Dioder (with new warm white)

Anyone know if IKEA has an alternative to the detolf around the same price, now that they've discontinued the detolf? I picked up something similar last week from them, but it doesn't have a glass casing, so the figures will end up getting dusty.

Oh wow, very nice. I like how thin they are too. I think I'm going to get these. Thanks a lot!

I'll post a picture of the result when I get them.

I didn't know they were discontinuing them. That's screwed.

I've looked everywhere for something similar in both build and price, and I haven't come up with anything. I had to settle with the Detolf beach colored cabinet, instead the "super rare, hard to find, not in stock anywhere ever" black version.

With as many figures I have coming in this year, I'm definitely going to have to grab another cabinet from them.
