crazy/trippy theme songs.
Hi. I love hardcore anime songs that are so crazy/trippy and catchy that they just make me go "wow" or "lolwut" or even "WTF???".
Anyway, the songs I've experienced and like that fit exactly into that category are: "What's Up, People!" from Death Note (almost perfect example) "Odoru Akachan Ningen" from NHK ni Youkoso! (also awesome) Similar songs I like that don't exactly fit into that category are: "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" from Lucky Star (it's crazy, but not enough rock, and a bit too light-hearted) "Wana" from Gundam 00 (it's got the rock and the dark mood, it's catchy, but not crazy enough) "Zetsubou Billy" from Death Note (crazy and trippy, very dark feel, but not quite catchy and clinging) The anime source doesn't matter. I'm just looking for something unique to listen to. Plus points if the song is in a MINOR key (darker, sadder tune). Plus points if it's catchy. Not too many girly cute songs, unless they are special like the Lucky Star opening. Those who recommend songs that I end up liking get a cookie. |

I would suggest the ending theme to .hack//roots: Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis. It kind of has that minor key trippy feeling to it, I think.
Cake of Mishearing, the Azumanga Daioh opening theme, is bizarre in its translation, but definitely has a very lighthearted feel, so might not be what you're looking for. |

Since you listed the second opening of Death Note I would suggest music from Detroit Metal City, the lyrics are really crazy and when I first saw posts of this series on 4chan it really made me go WTF and then I immediately started downing the series, really the lyrics are quite messed up but Krauser is the most epic thing ever!
The series is even epic to watch edit: thought for a moment and here's another one I really liked which I am certain you'll find as addicting as I do The openings for Sayonara Zetsubou Seinsei: Hito Toshite Jiku ga Bureteiru and Kuusou Rumba both by Kenji Ohtsuki and the cast If you've seen the openings themselves you'll know what I mean, below is the opening for Goku Sayonara Zetsubou sensei which is the third installment of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Last edited by -KarumA-; 2009-02-10 at 11:28. |

Another one I've come across, not really tripy in a Maximum the Hormone kind of way it is more electric but also really catchy and trippy in its own way:
from Appleseed: Dive for you by Boom boom satellites and another song used as the opening of Xam'd Lost Memories: Shut up and Explode I really like Boom boom Satellites =) |

Gantz - Super Shooter (its weird, just like the anime and if you did watch it, I felt it had some sort of contradicting sarcasm)
Otogizoushi - Zen Ghost In the Shell - Inner Universe Basilisk - Kouga Ninpou Chou (I wouldn't exactly call this trippy but the singer's voice was really strong and would just make you go 'wow' Ayakashi Japanese Classic Horror - Heat Island (A very interesting use, does not fit the theme of the horror stories inside at all yet the animation is done extremely well to match) |

I need another story
Something to get off my chest My life gets kind of boring Need something that I can confess Till all my sleeves are stained red From all the truth that I've said Come by it honestly I swear Thought you saw me wink, no, I've been on the brink, so [Chorus] Tell me what you want to hear Something that'll like those ears Sick of all the insincere So I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time Don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away My God, amazing how we got this far It's like we're chasing all those stars Who drive the shiny big black cars And everyday I see the news All the problems we could solve And when a situation rises Just write it into an album send it straight to gold I don't really like my flow, oh, so [Chorus] Tell me what you want to hear Something that'll like those ears Sick of all the insincere So I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time Don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away Got no reason Got no shame Got no family I can blame Just don't let me disappear I'mma tell you everything [Chorus 2x] Tell me what you want to hear Something that'll like those ears Sick of all the insincere So I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time Don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm Gonna give all my secrets away All my secrets away (x2) good song for a sad part of a anime tell me what anime its good for plz ans thx

For the catchy/trippy thing have you tried the OP and ED to Working, be warned though they can be very addicting.
Op http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5rNH...eature=related ED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drGux...eature=related Op is the girls and ED is the boys. |
