I loved episode 5, I've loved every episode but this was great too. My favourite episode so far was 4 due to the Sasahara jokes, but Sakurai-sensei is far too cute for being so clueless. Mio drawing basically what you'd find in a boy love manga for her last panel and it being used for the test was quite funny and Yuko calling her Mio-sensei was a nice touch to mock her for being a mangaka.

Definitely agree with that. Of the two main segments in the show, Hakase and Nano is the more enjoyable of the two. As for the Yuuko bits, the bits with Mio seem to be better than the ones with Mai (as these tend to drag on like a Family Guy cutaway joke that goes on for way too long).

It's Kyoto Animation, and they have clearly different system from Gainax and Shaft... That-never-happened.

Only animators who can actually 'enjoy' is those who plays with directions and contis. Animators who draws the cuts are pretty much dying, especially Kyoani where they treats Sakuga as first priority.

If Kyoani is 'polishing' their animators for an even better upcoming project, so be it. They're obviously experimenting with many different camera angles and shot transitions, sometimes at the expense of comic timing. 5 episodes in, and not one speck of CGI is found. I think Kyoani's directors usually participate in key animation as well, but I feel just a tiny bit sorry for the in-between animators.

I think one could say Nichijou is to Kyoani what Pantys Stockings & Garterbelt is to Gainax.

There's CGI. You don't need to look past episode 1 for that.

You know that Kyoto Animation forced fired all the intelligent members of their company, just because they were experimenting too much?... If Yamakan was still active in Kyoto Animation till now, this animation would have been 100 times better. Sadly, after that incident, both Kyoani and Yamakan basically stopped improving.

'Panty Stocking' of Kyoto Animation was in fact, 'Suzumiya Haruhi season 2'. Endless eight was partially in purpose of using new animators/directors to experiment with 8~9 different episodes. (It failed, as we all know) Nichijou is merely using those animators trained in practical form (which is obviously not working well).

The Principal is kind of awesome. Nano vs Cockroach was also pretty funny. My favorite segment was the picture shiritori one. Yukko tiene "Tengo" por un golpe de lápiz. I can always get behind wordplay jokes. And for being a voice of reason, Mio has quite the temper. She looked like she was going to turn into a witch at the riverbank there.

Spoiler for Episode 6: Pre subs: Lots of Mio and Yuko today....lots of Mio reacting today. Something about Yuko's cooking first...(not much I can say, its talking) OP Word play with pictures between Mio and Yuko while in English class. Some very silly reactions by Mio. The blonde and the soccer guy are in a club room I guess, she's reading manga and he's bored. Deer Wrestling!!! Serous sports action time...okay its just coin hockey between Mai and Yuko....Mai's really freaking strong. Professor and Nano play rock-paper-scissors again....Nano "wins" with shark. Jump rope time...one guy is taking a break. Nano has captured a cockroach on the table with a bowl and is in panic mode. Seriously interesting music going on this entire scene. Sakamoto comes in and wants to deal with it, but Nano doesn't want to lift up the bowl. This annoys Sakamoto-san. they get into an arguement. (During this episode we've been seeing a section of the school's courtyard for the passage of time segments...however at this point we see goat-kun enter the screen...followed by a rocket and blows the courtyard up) The Professor arrives with Nano still holding the roach trapped under the bowl on the table. She hopes the Professor will do something about it but the Professor rolls up a magazine and then taps Nano on the head instead. Nano's reaction causes the Professor to cry until Nano works her over leading to a touching scene...and the accidental release of the roach. Professor and Nano take a bath. The Professor has extremely high math skills...Nano does not, and this depresses the Professor, who pouts and blows bubbles. Blonde girl and soccor guy are inthe club room again, the blonde blushes and the guy realizes something. Mai, Mio, and Yuko go camping near a creek. Mai is fishing, Yuko is making curry and Mio I guess is boiling the rice. Yuko is bringing the curry over and trips spilling dinner. She tries to cover it up...Mio looses it completely becoming a demon, but spills the rice doing so. They apologies to Mai, who catches a large fish.....and then releases it, sending both Mio and Yuko rocketing up into the clouds. Mio and Yuko are hungry and Mai has Fast Food....they fight over noodles...that turn out to be bad...they then wrestle. That night thye are starving. Thinging they have stuff...they find nothing good...Mai trolls them a little as well. Camping ends with Yuko sleeping feet out with a dog that comes in and puts its paw on her feet...like it knows her pain. Short scene of Nano and the Professor after their bath drinking milk.
