Sorry if this question has been brought up already but does anyone know where I can read Volume 11 Translated (or a translated summary)

I know Sumergai and relentless did a summary from what I could gather skimming the posts but I can't find the actual summary they made going back many pages (maybe I missed it ?)

Well damn I didn't expect Manami to be so underhanded. It quite frankly pisses me off to no end. I always had a hunch something was wrong with her character. Looks like I was correct in thinking that. Now I hope she is exposed and kicked to the curb. To be fair I'm just being bias and I really really really REALLY hate Manami.

This story is ending next volume, I'm expecting Kirino to resolve her "relationship" between her brother once and for all cause clearly she sees her brother more as a brother. There has been no indication they're not blood related so I doubt the author is going to drop a bomb on us like that. I expect something along the lines of Kyousuke and Kirino becoming very close siblings and Kirino giving her blessings to either Kuroneko or Ayase.

Or perhaps both

^Sounds like it will go that way. It's funny how stories these days start as "oooh, taboo!" but turn toward something less crazy but still interesting (and possibly more realistic). Looking forward to the conclusion regardless.

Is Manami evil?

They key question for me is why she suggests that Ayase is the perfect girl for him in volume 8, and I doubt I'll ever find that out. Especially as Manami seems to have worked hard to snare him. The nicest explanation would be that she just wants to see him happy with someone other than Kirino. The darket explanation would be that she encourages him to have a relationship with a young, mentally and emotionally unstable girl, knowing that with the right fuelling of Ayase's paranoia, would leave to a painful and messy break-up. Once again the calm and stable Manami would be there to pick up the pieces and snare him for good.

I suspect though that the whole of volume 11 is an excuse by the author to be able to say that the "normal" relationship between Kirino and Kyousuke wasn't able to develop properly. Following up with whilst we're incredibly fond/jealous/possessive of each other we don't want a sexual relationship.

Despite Manami being built up as a villian, I don't think there's anything she can actually do in volume 12.

Now Kyousuke already started to come out back to his former self, he is going to make a choice for himself (read : confess to a girl). And I doubt he is going to ask for an advice again.

....erhm i thnk you both are forgetting an almighty entity that Manami can turn to in an emergency case of (God forbids) a Kirino x Kyo possible relationship, actually two:

1.- Parents <- I dare anyone to tell me their parents would allow such a thing and i'll face-desk so hard i'll break it.

2.- Society. If Manami is as evil and (yandere?) as it seems, she might as well announce openly to anyone Kyo knows (and Kirino knows too) the incest thingy. If anything they'll end up having a hard life. If Kyo wanted to be a public servant he can kiss good bye that dream. Kirino in other hand, being a model and all, having an incestuous relationship i can't see it helping her career if she is aiming at such.

So yeah, Manami is not out of resources by any means, if not to stop it, she can at least force them to eventually break up.

However society's approach against taboos is not as forceful as it may seem. They can easily avoid such the impact of Japanese society by simply going out of Japan. But of course, there's still the parents problem.

I'm open for any romantic conclusion to Oreimo's story, but what I really want is for karma to smack Manami so hard that she won't be able to recover. Trying to enforce societal standards is one thing, but forcing a person to go down your route by manipulating his world is an entirely different story.

(Well, Kirino has been doing it lots of times, but it's in the eroge she plays. How ironic, though. The person who has been immersing herself in eroge for a long time is as close to being a riajuu as it can get, while the girl who has been trying to stick to the rules of society is playing a boy like an eroge.)

In the end I can see Kyousuke "confessing" to Kirino. But purely to set their feelings straight. He already told Kuroneko that he wouldn't get into another relationship before sorting things out with Kirino.

Given the massive push that Ayase got from the author in volume 10, I strongly believe that she's going to end up with Kyousuke. From her exchange with Kuroneko, to being chosen to look after Kyousuke by Kirino, followed by Kyousuke saying she was more important than his exam and finally the confession. At this this late stage I can't believe that was just to fill the pages

I can't see a Kuroneko ending, largely because she's never seen herself as a leading lady. Her dream seems to being a nekmimmi maid to Kyousuke and his partner (who at the time she drew as Kirino). Interestingly after her blunt exchange with Ayase, where she points out that any girlfriend is going to have to deal with Kyousuke's feelings for Kirino, and even goes so far to say she doesn't care if Kyousuke sleeps with Kirino, the two of them become close. Kyousuke and Kirino separately catch Ayase stepping on Kuroneko, which she vehemently denies both times is S&M play. I can certainly see Ayase tolerating a nekomimmi maid

I do wonder if we're going to see Kyousuke giving Manami her own life consultation, telling her that she needs to stop meddling in his life and go out and find her own.

Ultimately with characters this great it's a shame it's coming to an end.

greetings from Poland everyone ! I`m huge Oreimo fan, and becouse I don`t know japanese I translated (with google translelate ) informations from a japanese blog about vol 11. And there said that in vol 11 is a prolog for vol 12 . Is trat true ?? and what this prolog contains ?? Could somebody give a brief surrary of vol 11 please ! Also there was Info that the pearson that Kyosuke Loves is the same now and 3 years ago. So only opions left are Kirino and Manami. And I am afraid that he will chose Manami ( becouse wy he has anly porn about woman with glases. Also there was a talk with Akagi about Minami before he went to her home wich made me guessing that he unconcions have a feling for manami. ) and that ending whould be very bad for all the fans. The author of the blog was also very shocked how much manami wants that relantioshibp beetween kirino and kyosuke to be normal siblings. so shes like a final boss . Thats why i hope Kirino And Kyosuke wont be releted by blood so there thet can be in romantic relationship. I also guessing that Kuo will return to his former self and will change manami a bit . i hope that the battle kirino - minami for kyosuke heart will Kirino win, becouse i cant stand the aption about manami (shes the final boss after all )

This. Ultimately Ayase is my favorite character, so I'm definitely hoping for an Ayase ending, though of course Kirino is going to be largely present since she's still the actual heroine. (just as she was largely present in most of the PSP game endings)

But I also agree with the details in the quote above. Additionally, after all this I think it would kinda be, I guess "cheap," to have Kirino and Kyousuke hook up; putting incest issues aside , their issues and the story surrounding them has been more of a brother/sister story than a romance.

And clearly the people behind the Oreimo franchise aren't that big on incest relationships either, since the only way Kirino even has a romantic relationship with Kyousuke in the PSP game is when

I think it has and it hasn't. Obviously, given that they are siblings, their sibling relationship is at the base of the conflict. But I think what the story has shown, and has emphasized even more in recent volumes, is that it's been to the point of boiling over. This is why a key element of the conflict that caused the rift was when Manami told Kirino that her romantic feelings for Kyousuke (when she was younger) were not normal. The story in recent volumes also has suggested in multiple ways that the desires and fantasies they have involving each other are not normal sibling territory either, and that Kirino's fundamental feelings for Kyousuke actually haven't changed in all these years (or perhaps you could say, her old feelings were revived). So if you say the story is "more about a brother/sister story"... I can't totally agree with that.

But, of course, flirting with the line and actually crossing it are two different questions. Actually crossing it has some huge implications, and I agree that I'm not sure that the story really wants to go there (or will have the time to go there in one volume). But, however they deal with it, if we're going to say this is a story about siblings, it at least needs a pretty big disclaimer that they're nothing resembling normal.

...Well, I think you could take this either way. It was originally a small "if" scenario in the original game, but (per interviews) the author liked it so much that he decided to expand it in the sequel (writing it himself).

Spoiler for PSP Game if Story Plot:

To be honest, the way it was done in the PSP game uses the sort of stereotypical cheap trick for these stories. Kyousuke had thought of Kirino as his blood-related sister all along, until one day he realized that none of their childhood photos had him in it, and it eventually led to his parents revealing the secret. Meanwhile, Kirino says she "had a feeling" that might be the case, but she didn't know. So they basically treated each other as real siblings all along, and the revelation was just a way to artificially remove the barrier, and led to Kirino's confession that she's "always loved him".

In the end, I'm not sure how much it really changes the emotional side of the romance, even if they're now cousins rather than blood-related siblings.
