It's really messed up now how I wrote 48/49k words now that I think of it. Half the time I was just making shit up as I went along I had to make a lot of compromises.

Even when planned, compromises tend to be made. Like myself for example, in summary, I can say one thing, while in chapter actual, I would find myself writing another.

Thing is, the same thing occurs. Like a battle, but details tend to vary though still lead to the same end.

Chifuyu as Yukihime is full of win and easily transferable. Ichika as the idiot protag Touta works as well and Char as Kuromaru works even better.

According to novel, they're told to do 10 laps in the training field with I.S. parts on

...which has the circumference of 2 km, talk about spartan punishment (PIC or not, walking with that much bulk can't be easy)

Running. The in-line skates thing works you a lot in continuous strain. Running gives more impact though.

Just for reference: An official marathon is 42.195km. Chifuyu is demanding that teenage girls run over a marathon, wearing an IS frame, without the PIC activated. Drill sergeants would KILL to get the leeway she apparently has with her trainees. That or piloting the IS really makes you 'high-specced' (which can make sense in a meta way as for why both Tabane and Chifuyu are so 'high-specced' compared to everyone else - they've been around it for much longer).

You probably could.

It would also probably take 4 1/2 to 5 hrs for them to complete it. Average pace for a marathon is 4 hrs and some change. But that's just average humans running it without any of the IS equipment so... yeah. Probably would take them all day unless they are physically enhanced in some way and even then, wearing even parts of the IS frame would drastically increase their pace time.

"Haah, what an exhausting day," Chifuyu muttered as she opened the small gate to her house. Teaching brats was always exhausting but ever since she told her class that she'd personally take the one to land a hit on her up to Tokyo, she had been receiving an endless stream of challenges. She paused at the door, a small smile on her face as she recalled their faces this morning as she blew them away. Brats though they may be, it made her smile to see them earnestly trying so hard for their dream. A big, fat pipe dream that will leave them disillusioned with the world and all of its illusions.

"Ichika, I'm home~" she called, pushing open the door. As she took her shoes off, it took her but a moment to realize that the air was different. Normally Ichika gets home before she does and is usually cooking their supper by now. There was no trace of cooking in the air. She extended her senses for moment, a thin yet strong 'pulse' emitting from her body not unlike a sonar. ...nothing back.

"..." She walked through the doorway into the main room and glanced at the kitchen. Two pots were on the stove but nothing was turned on. She glanced back straight ahead, her fingers slowly forming into her patented claw form. "Oh where could my dear little brother have gone now," she murmured sweetly as she felt the spike in violent intent just behind and above her.

*WHAM!*

She glanced up just as Ichika swung the bokuto at her, using her right arm to block it flawlessly. "I thought the 'fly' was a little to big, so it was you," she smiled up at a grinning Ichika. She grabbed at the sword but he withdrew it before she could get a grip on the smooth surface and swung at her again. She blocked his 2nd strike with the back of her hand, rotated her wrist and grabbed onto the wooden weapon. With a yank, she pulled him close to her and latched her fingers around his throat.
"Still not good enough, Ichika."

"Aw man, I thought I had you this time," he whined, barely struggling in her grip. She had not exerted any of her power so he was just being held between her fingers.

"You wish you had me," she released him and playfully swatted at his head, which he ducked and bounced out of reach. "Still, you are betting better at hiding your presence than before, I'll give you that much."

"Hee hee, thanks Chifuyu-nee," the young boy leaned the wooden sword up against the wall and went towards the kitchen. "How does chicken stew sound?"

"Sounds delicious." She took off her jacket and began to unzip her skirt. A woman her 'age' living with a young boy like this. Oh her contemporaries would not let her hear the end of it. Still, he cooked better than any one of them. "How long?"

"About 30 minutes. Ah, the bath is all ready if you want."

"I'll do that then, thanks."

She poured the contents of a strange purple vial into the water before entering the tub. As she soaked, her mind began to wander back to when she took the young boy known as Ichika under her care. She gave a rueful chuckle. Centuries of living and she gets done in by one sob story just because this boy just happened to remind her of him... But truly, the boy was in every way, shape, and form exactly like her brother... She had lived long enough - if the powers that be could not let her indulge in a small fantasy of living with her (reincarnated) younger brother again, then to hell with them. The memories of playing ball with him outside their family's house in feudal Japan came up in her mind as fresh as if it had happened yesterday....


"Chifuyu-nee~ Dinner's almost done."

She opened her eyes with a start, jolting the water around her. "Hnn, okay, I'll be out in a moment."

I have a question about Laura's AIC. I know that it works by canceling the inertia of any object or weapon. To use this Laura has to concentrate on said object. So if Laura were using the AIC to stop something and she lost focus like just for a second, would the AIC stop working for that short period of time?

Now I remember why I look at IS pilots differently. Not to mention, why I posted these a while ago:

Spoiler for IS Academy Students and IS Pilots:

Looking at the live video feed provided by one of the many recon drones, I’ve noticed one thing about what’s going on within IS Academy.

“It seems that the most heavily traffic areas are around the school buildings, dorms, cafeteria, arenas and training field.”

While I’m looking at the video footages, Ratchet, Sideswipe and Scourge are looking at the holographic image lying out IS Academy; also provided from the recon drones.

“Which is obviously over half of the island…”

“Yeah. So much for doing the testing and training in peace.”

“Oh come on guys, at least we won’t be pestered by all of the countries.”

As we’re scouring over the data from the recon drones reconnaissance, Tezla entered the lab.

Using IS Academy as a testing grounds for the Silverbacks was something was what we least expected from him.

Now that the world knows about this, I got another thing on my mind.

“Anything about the move, Tezla?”

“I’m still working on it, Eric. But right now I’ve got some things to tell you.”

“Like what?”

Tezla sat down close to us the moment we’ve turned to him.

“Well, it’s about the IS Academy students. There are some things that you should know about them before we head to IS Academy.”

“Hmm…”

Judging from how firmed Tezla sounded, he must have known some things; most likely from being held captive by Phantom Task.

“For all we know, they’re IS Pilots in training.”

“That’s basically the generalization of the student body, Brian. But there’s more to it…”

“…”

Tezla shut down the holographic image of IS Academy that’s in the center of us.

“Among the trainees in the student body are a mixture of higher level IS pilots, but not up to the elite stage. It’s true that an IS Pilot is among the world’s elites these days. And there are IS Pilots out there who are actually above the elite.”

“Above the elite? Hold on.”

I cut in to make sure that I heard what Tezla said was exactly what he just said.

“You’re saying that there are some IS Pilots out there who are stronger than the special armed forces?”

Without hesitation, Tezla gave an immediate response.

“Yes…”

He adjusted himself on his seat to get himself more comfortable.

“Actually, to be more specific about it, there are multiple levels of IS Pilots; and the students in IS Academy are of no exception.”

“?”

Even the students are a part of it?

Thinking about that in my head, Tezla continued on.

“First, is an IS Pilot Trainee; the lowest level of all IS Pilots. The vast majority of IS Academy’s student body is comprised of them. The one key note about them, is that they’re civilians who have the potential to become IS Pilots. Even though they’re considered as IS Pilots, they’re in the basic stages of their training. At this level, it’s virtually no problem for a Navy SEAL or Army Ranger to subdue. The problem is the next level…”

Hearing that last sentence, all of us blinked while keeping our attention on Tezla.

“This level of IS Pilots are the Representative Candidates. There are fewer of them compared to the IS Pilot Trainees, but these pilots have their own personal IS, given to them from their country’s government. And they’re much better fighters; both in and out of their ISes. The six IS pilots you’ve fought during that Rogue IS incident are of this level. To say the least, their strength is of that of a Navy SEAL and Army Ranger put together.”

“So they’re somewhat equal to us?”

“That’s to say the least, Eric. Some other Representative Candidates may say otherwise.”

Cutting off his words for the short moment, he adjusts himself in his seat again, before resuming.

“And finally, there are the IS National Representatives; the highest level of all IS Pilots. They’re very few of them around the world; with each country having one National Representative. And they’re chosen from a pool of Representative Candidates. But I’ll have to give it to you straight…”

Tezla’s face made a serious look as he paused.

“The grim truth is, that these National Representatives are far stronger than that of a Navy SEAL and an Army Ranger put together.”

!... National Representatives are far stronger than them?

For Thunder Crash’s basic training, we were trained by active veterans from two of the world’s best special armed forces.

Using that as a comparison on where we stand to the National Representatives… This is not good…

“And exactly how many National Representatives are in IS Academy is unknown. Considering that we’re going to an island that has 400+ IS Pilots, things are probably going to get hairy for our testing.”

And as if the countries around the world are bad enough. After hearing about the levels of these IS Pilots, the best thing for us to do while we’re at IS Academy is to stick together. We don’t know what those girls will do while we’re there.

Spoiler for Representative Candidate Images ("Finished" Ver.):

"We need to get things ready for the move to IS Academy. We only have a few days left."

Tezla activated a holographic screen in the middle of the lab.

"But before we do that, there are some things that I should tell you beforehand..."

All of us are paying close attention as he continued explaining.

"You guys ought to remember that an IS Representative Candidate is atleast as strong as you guys."

"Yeah, tell us something we don't know already..."

Ratchet's smartass remark didn't even make Tezla flinch.

"Even though there are some who are students in IS Academy, there are some that you should to keep an eye out for."

Sideswipe began to look around; first towards me, and then Ratchet and back to Tezla.

"And exactly what do you mean by that?"

"Keep an eye out for those who can be a threat to your well being. That's one way of putting it."

Tezla put up 5 images of young teenage girls in a single row.

"These are pictures of 5 students who are atleast IS Representative Candidates. You might recognized 4 of them though..."

"..."

I sternly stared at the 5 images and immediately recognized 4 out of the 5. And so did everyone else.

"Well that's just great..."

"What are the odds of it being them?"

"There goes our well beings..."

"..."

Before I can raise my own input about those 4 girls we recognized, Telze resumed explaining.

"I just had to do some digging about these pilots from that incident at Ishiyama. And with some help from a small group of Recon Drones I programmed to specifically gather data about them."

But I don't remember seeing one of them at Ishiyama.

"How did you get an image of the light blue-haired? She sure wasn't involved with the incident."

"I got it from that small group of Recon Drones I programmed. And more, which I'll show you in a bit."

Tezla faced the images he displayed before continuing.

"By the data I got from my own research, these 5 students are Representative Candidates of 5 different countries. From the left; From England, Cecilia Alcott. From China, Lingyin Huang. From France, Charlotte Dunois. From Germany, Laura Bodewig. And from Russia..."

A very stern glare was on Tezla's as he looked at the image of the light blue-haired, red-eyed. Seeing that look on his face, it seems there's something about her that's troubling him.

"Why did you stop? What's wrong with Russia's pilot?"

Tezla turned to us while he answered.

"Her personality conflicts with her current position as an IS pilot and a student in IS Academy. I even have some data from the Recon Drones to show you in case if you don't believe me."

Ratchet had a slight look of curiosity on his face as he's looking at the blue-haired.

"How so, Doc?"

"Her personality's like that of being 'playful' to say the least. Despite her current position in IS Academy is Student Council President; the strongest student in the whole Academy. Even though she's an IS Pilot to watch out for, she's going to come into contact with us from time to time on the technical terms between us and the Academy."

When he finished explaining, the 4 images moved back and another holographic screen appeared.

"Here..."

The camera view is from a Recon Drone that's following Ichika. After walking a short distance inside one of the Academy's buildings, he went through a door with a plaque reading Locker Room (ロッカー ルーム). As the door closed, the drone had stopped in front of it.

"This is some of the audio recordings I got from the Recon Drones."

"..."

Right when we turned towards the holographic screen, we heard a familiar voice from that incident at Ishiyama.

"It's such a waste to have so much space..."

"..."

"Guess who?"

"..."

"Okay, time's up."

"...Who are you?"

"Ufufu."

What the hell's going on in there?

"Are you—"

"Ah. Fooled you♪!"

*Pa.*

"..."

"Huh..."

"Bye bye! Got to hurry up, or else you'll get scolded by Orimura-sensei."

"Huh?... UAAAAHHHHHH! OH-OH NO—I'M DEEEAAADDDD!!!"

The audio had cut out and the setting has changed but it's not all that different. Despite the drone is by the door with the number '1025' on it's plaque. It must be his dorm room or something.

*GACHUNK!*

"Welcome back. Do you want dinner, a bath, or... do, you, want, me?"

--*BAM!*

As fast as Ichika finished opening the door, he slammed it shut.

"Erm..."

He took a look at the name plate, probably making sure it's his name or something. After checking he opened the door again.

"Welcome back. Do you want me? Do you want me? Or do, you, want, me?"

As he walked in, the door shut behind him; leaving the drone that's tailing him outside of his dorm room.

"THERE'S NO OPTION I CAN CHOOSE!"

"There is, but only one."

"..."

"I intend to stay here from today onwards."

"Wha...?"

"Yeah~ I can brag to everyone! Only two girls managed to live in the same room as Ichika-kun before me. I'll become your third woman then."

"No, wait...huh? Isn't this the first year dorm?"

"That's the power of the Student Council President. Ichika-kun's reaction is so kawaii~"

What is up with this girl? Isn't Ichika supposed to have his own room, being the only guy in IS Academy?

Asking myself that, Ichika seems to be panicing a bit...

"ANY-ANYWAY! PLEASE WEAR SOME CLOTHES, CLOTHES!"

"JYAN♪! There's a swimsuit underneath it~"

"..."

"Fuu, are you disappointed?"

"HOW-HOW CAN I BE!"

"..."

"Oh my. That's just a little revenge since I couldn't catch onto the summer wave."

"Aha. You're blushing, aren't you?"

"Uu..."

The next sound that came from the dorm was clothes shuffling off. And what came after that was a deep sigh of either disbelief or dejection from Ichika.

"Haaa..."

Hearing this, Scourge jumped into the discusison.

“Oh man, I sure don’t want to get on the receiving end from her.”

Tezla had shut down the image containing the audio recordings we've listend to.

When the image shut down, he enlarged the blue-haired's image while closing down the previous 4 images of IS Representative Candidates.

"Her name is Tatenashi Sarashiki; Student Council President of IS Academy and Russia's IS National Representative."

"!..."

Sideswipe's eyes widen a bit.

"National Representative!-?”

“Yes, Eddie. Russia’s National Representative.”

“!...”

“…”

It’s not just him who is surprised by this; I’m a bit surprised, and so are Ratchet and Scourge.

Although, it would make sense to have the strongest student to have such a position in IS Academy, but also being a National Representative?

But something about her name’s got me a little puzzled about her being Russia’s National Representative.

“Hold on…”

Tezla looked at me before resumed.

“Tatenashi Sarashiki… Isn’t that a Japanese name?”

Ratchet took a closer look at Tatenashi’s image, as he spoke.

“Yeah, and she doesn’t even look a bit Russian. Unless if one of her parents is one...”

“There is an explanation for that. When an IS Pilot reach such a high level, she has the choice of being a National Representative for any country. No matter of her nationality or ethnicity.”

If IS Pilots reach that level have a choice, then it means there are not that many IS Pilots who can be National Representatives.

“Now back to the issue at hand… As I said; Tatenashi will be in contact with us on the technical side, but when it comes to being in contact with her on the personal side, that’s another story…”

"So you think the best thing to do is to keep our distance from her on the personal level?"

"That's right, Clay. Avoid her on the personal level as much as you can. As you heard in the audio recordings, she has a knack for teasing her fellow students from time to time and she can take down pretty much any student who comes to challenge her with ease. But also, it seems that she loves to play and toy with a guy's emotions."

“Ha…”

I let out a small sigh while silence filled the lab.

It’s a good thing that Tezla did some digging on this. It gives us a heads up on how we should counter act this. The last thing all of us would want is stirring up trouble at the Academy.

If that were to happen, then whatever follows won’t be good to say the least.

Now that I think about it, aren't they augmented at all, at least to deal with the waves upon waves of info given by the IS? Or is that factored into their ranking... ugh, been a while since I actually dealt with the specifics of IS actual.

Tabane augmented herself, (nanomachine body modification?) so I think that Chi-chan might have inadvertently gotten some of those modifications as well. An injection to make sure that she doesn't reject Core 001...? *shrugs*
