Position: QCers, TL Checker Projects: There's a few. ^^;; IRC: #DATS on irc.rizon.net Contact: Zelsius, digiboy123 or Scar on #DATS or email to digiboy123[AT]alltel.net Website: http://forum.dats.us/ We're mainly looking for some determined QCers. ^^;; We've had many, but they disappear suddenly for no reason. Please, only people that really want to help. We really need to get lots of stuff out of QC. And a TL Checker wouldn't hurt either. If anyone is interested, you see how to contact us. =) |

Group: Ripping in Peace
Positions: Translators Jap-Eng, Quality-Checkers, Subtitle Fixers Projects: Depending on what we are working on or have available and which the candidate would like to work on IRC: #ripping_in_peace@irc.rizon.net Contact: Essord Website: http://rip.atspace.org/ Ripping in Peace [RiP] is mainly a dvdrip group focussing on anime that has not been released yet by other groups in HQ, anime that is rare, quite unknown or for some strange reason ignored by other groups. In some cases we have dvds with no subs for anime that has never been released before so we are in great need of jap-eng translators for those. What kind of anime do we do? Basically we do anything, from crap to quality, from 1960 to present day. Our goal is to bring as much new anime to the anime community as possible. Check our website or anidb.info for a list of what we have released. However, we have high standards. We want our anime to be of the highest quality attainable for the video, the sound and the subtitles. Projects have been dropped because we could not attain the quality we aim for. As the shows we do are rare or unknown, the dvd sources available are often of crappy quality. We put in a lot of effort to obtain HQ. QC-ers thus can not expect an easy job, but the results are worth it. In a few cases our releases were of better quality than the dvd sources. Likewise the subtitles of our dvdsources often contain errors, bad english or simply bad translations. Subfixers will have to be good at english and be able to notice small to larger errors and be able to fix these within logical boundaries. Although our releases often require much work, we allow our members to work at their own pace. We work for the pleasure of bringing new and unknown anime to the anime community so time is not much of an issue as we do not compete with other groups or aim to release as much as possible (although we would like to). So do you want to work on anime that nobody else is doing, or finally release an anime in HQ that was only available in crappy quality before, and discover the rarities in anime history, then join our irc channel and pm one of the ops. |

Group: Undisclosed until first release
Position: JP->EN Translator and Editor/QC Current Project: IdolM@ster Xenoglossia. The second project has yet to be decided. Membership: Full FTP access, staff forums, staff site, staff IRC channel, and some other useful things. Email: pichu[at]pichu.org Nick: pichu/mikan/p/[ on irc.rizon.net For translators: Summer is coming, and if you're interested in joining our group as the permanent/dedicated translator, we will give you a warmth welcome. If you're here to learn or better yourself, we can arrange that too - as we have 4-5 Translation Checkers and handful of typesetters, who started this group. For editors: If you're looking to be an editor, you must be a native English speaker, preferably in pursuit of a literature major or has some kind of [English] liberal arts degree. For Quality Checkers: On top of being able to edit and/or translation check, you should also familiarize with general fansubbing process. |

Position(s): sQCer / Editor
Group: Kaninona Project(s): Gene Diver IRC Channel: #kaninona@irc.rizon.net IRC Contact: PM Senoby or igivejellybeans. Since school is using up the freetime of some of our members, we are looking for a native English speaker to do a final check on the language, but also noting timing/typesetting errors. Also, you should bring some stamina, since we are trying to be a little faster and the scripts usually have about 400 lines. Of course, we also won't deny the help of a bot owner |

Since the last project was rather successful, we're aiming for some further expansion
Group: Oedipus Positions: JP/CN/KR>EN Translator(s), Canadian English Editor, Typesetter, Propaganda Specialist(s) Project:Emily of New Moon IRC Channel: #Oedipus Manifesto I. We take everyone; experienced or noob, with morals or without. II. Remember: quality over speed. We can let the project stall over 3 months at any stage. If anyone asks, blame it on quality. III. No project will be subbed to the end as it goes against the spirit of random start-ups. Preferably, 1-3 episodes get done before we stall it indefinitely, without notice.[/quote] |

Group: Formula Sub
Position/s: Freelance; typesetter, Karaoke stylist. Dedicated; QC, BT superseeders, XDCC Bot providers. Project/s: Tales of Symphonia OAVs, undecided summer/early autumn series IRC: #formulasub@irc.rizon.net Web: www.formulasub.com Contacts: on IRC Merines or martino [or any chanop, for that matter] We are in need of a semi-experienced typesetter and karaoke stylist [k-timing can be handled by someone else if you like] for the upcoming Tales of Symphonia OAVs, the first DVD of which releases June 8th. These two positions are freelance, though the option to stick around with the group would of course be open. We're also in need of a new QCer for the future, as we're losing one of our duo to military service. Plus I need at least 2 people around to slap me for all the mistakes I make. Super-seeders and bot providers are welcome, of course.
