After months of isolation and brainstorming other fanfics....

I think I finally had the inspiration to start writing IS fanfic... A new story(sorry...)

For now:

Upgrade: (Combining some ideas including Extreme Shift) (Inspired by Vividred Operation)
A system which allow IS to perform beyond its maximum capacity. Originally created as a dangerous war-tech stealing device (taking over enemies' machines), now retooled as IS powering-up device.

Capable of performing Overdrive (an powerful attack with the IS performing at 500% of normal capability)

The problem is: the IS frame can't take that much power, resulting in reduced performance and disabling of equalizer after use.

Currently Black Box technology due to original Creator committed suicide due to depression.
The current Creator only build a system (the IS powering part) around the Black Box.

Raphael Revised (probably need a better name):
Classified as Generation 2x.
>To bluntly put it: It is just a Generation 2 Raphael Custom equipped with Generation 3 Equalizers.
> Capable of Bursting (Burst Speed and power for a short period of time)
>The problem is slow charging time (think of it as Cool-down time for spell) but it managed to make up the weakness by retaining some Generation 2 weapons.

Edit: Forgot to mention: The Equalized store energy from Main core...which means that even if the IS is low on energy, Gray Scale mk3 still can be used.

Edit: probably make Britain look kind of bad-ass (as in they already expect that Silent Zephyr would attack Blue Tears one day....hence the data capturing device)

I seem to hit a wall inwriting whenever I finish a chapter. So please bear with my over conceptualizing.

4th blade is made from a metal experiment that gave it unique properties of absorbing energy, both kinetic and ambient. This causes the metal to barely flinch on impact and generate an extreme temperature of less than 100K. The metal is extremely hard, registering itself to be at least 10 times harder than diamond. However it is extremely brittle. The metal has very little flexibility and malleability to speak of. It also has a higher than normal density for a metal due to its closed molecular structure.

As far as I knew (please correct if I'm wrong) there's no way high density material can be brittle. Diamonds are hard and brittle because it's light, homogenous molecular structure right?

Density implies numberr of atoms in a limited volume. Or mass in a limited volume. Diamons are equally spaced, fairly far and of a light material in pure carbon. What makes diamonds so strong is their uniform lattice like bonds which are themselves strong.

The 4th metal is funky as it doesn't have this structure or any other structure. In fact, you can even say that the chemical bonds that hold them together are like a thin coat of glue. Looking at their structure is like looking at a giant atom unless you know where the crevices are.

Never really covered crystal structures too much but that's as far as I know.

EDIT: I guess it could. But for the most part it just sucks in most of energy based attacks. It also comes in handy to calm down oscillinium metal.

He had gone to this kind of place several times, mostly visiting his friend, if anything. Never once he had a major sickness or injury that requires hospital treatment. Before he got a good view, he rubbed his bodies awkwardly due to the pain, he’s using hospital gown, and he could feel the sensation of bandages underneath. “You’re awake, thank god” it wasn’t a question, but a statement of relief. A girls voice, a voice he’s unfamiliar with. Well, it sounded like a young boy too, but the accent is quite different. Sitting aside his bed is a girl roughly his age, her black hair had bluish tint as they reflect the odd sunlight going past the window. Her sharp, red eyes stared into him. He blinked, she did it too. “Where I am?” “Odaiba General Hospital” she smirked brightly “You collapsed in front of my home” Is that the truth? How embarrassing, maybe the fatigue and pain made him delusional, so desperate that he wanted to go home. “Ah I’m sorry; there must be something wrong with my eyes. I also apologize that I might unable to pay you back soon” She sheepishly smiled even wider, though she’s no one to trust a stranger, this man is so bold, reminded her of herself, actually. Besides, attacking her directly won’t result in anything meaningful. “Well, your injury is not quite fatal, but still you recover fast if the doctor has to be believed. Do you have someone you can contact?” “Ah yes, but… anyway, we haven’t introduce ourselves, I’m Ichika, Orimura Ichika” “How silly of me, I’m Orimura Ichika as well” What followed the friendly laugh is a total silence; soon, it turned into a gawking contest between the two youth. “…wait what?” “You said you’re Ichika?” they pointed each other, then refer to themselves “But I’m Ichika Orimura” Further silence, and this time it lasted for twenty second. And so, he removed his shirt slowly, letting them to examine the result, few question also asked, and they conclude with something. “In case of infection prevention, we’ll conduct 2 or 3 more days of constant inspection and treatment… however, the way his injury heal, maybe he could even return by tomorrow” “Thank you very much” Chifuyu bowed, to think that he’s been injured almost mortally… The girl mumbled something, and then politely asked if she allowed to talk with him a little more as it’s already past visit time. That aside, where you did get such private information from?” Ichika can’t help but wanted to put a palm on his face, after gulped his annoyance, he replied. “Ichika Orimura, 15, Class 1-A Student of Infinite Stratos Academy, this unit, ByakuShiki is a test type rolled out by Kuromachi Machinery Development…” he stated expressionless “Alas, it’s seems that I lost both Yukihira for some reason, but Reiryaku Byakuya remains untouched” “Did you say Yukihira…?” When he summoned his weapon, all he had is a saber-shaped lump of metal. “… Seems like after all I’m a fake eh…” “Hey, but what you just said now” She gasped in realization, is he implying he’s a stalker or something? But… well, she don’t understand, what happened? He’s so cheerful just now and yet… “So you do realize that there’s nothing you could use to prove that you’re Ichika” “I learned to accept that sometimes this world is cruel enough to hide the truth” he said calmly, with a sad smile “If you cannot recognize me, then neither my friends. Like you said, this world is not kind, all I can do is to trust or not trust your confession, that’s about it?” “Yes” “Then you have all the time to think” Chifuyu told him “I have contacted the Government and sooner or later they’ll send PSIA as first response unit” “PSIA? Are you kidding?” the girl half screamed, but then she realized her mistake “Sorry, I’ll be quiet” PSIA, Public Security Intelligence Agency. Not much featured or known by most people, but let’s say they’re the equivalent of more well known CIA. Like the name implies, they handle anything that’s gravely matter to public or national security. That includes handling and protecting important figures. The woman simply poked her forehead and smirked amusingly “Think a little, idiot, you and him are on the whole different level this time” With that, the woman left ambiguously, leaving a lot of question especially the reason why it’s PSIA and not I.S.A. personnel that is mobilized. “It happened during my… our kidnapping too” he chuckled “And yet they can’t find me anywhere, empty depot in Tokyo Bay” In the end, it was Chifuyu who saved her; could it be that… he remembers the same thing? If he’s lying or pretending, why he eyes look so distant despite they’re so close? Is that because no one recognizes him? He rested his head on the pillow, using it to muffle his scream. “AAAAGH!! This is stupid; maybe I’ll end in the lab somewhere being dissected.” And then it clicked. He is a male. Male cannot use I.S. He not only using one, but he also have a personal unit to boot. What more could he ask for right now? Ignoring all impulses to stay asleep, the dark haired youth forcefully opened his eyes and found himself face to face with an unknown room. A hospital room by the looks of it, if the sterile white floor and blank bed was any indication. The unnatural scent of the entire room was actually familiar to him. He had gone to these kinds of places several times; mostly to visit his friend, though never for himself. Never once had he been afflicted with a major sickness or injury that required hospital treatment. He couldn't focus much; his body was in too much pain. Looking down, he saw the unmistakable appearance of a hospital gown and the bare traces of bandages just barely poking out of his skin. A professional treatment; nothing he could do himself “You’re awake, thank God!” Not a question, but rather a statement full of relief. The voice was unfamiliar to him, though it was undoubtedly woman's voice....no, it was a girl. She sounded too young to be a woman. Sitting aside his bed is a girl roughly his age. She was Japanese by the looks of it; a trait they both shared. Her hair wasn't too long and ended just past her neckline. A common haircut, if not for the fact that her black hair carried with it a bluish tint. He would've been fascinated if not for his current situation. Her casual attire was nothing special: A plain white shirt and a pair of blue jeans and black sneakers. He pegged her as a tomboy. He blinked, she did it too. Her ruby red eyes continued to stare at him, much to his discomfort. The color was way too familiar to him. And discomfort mixed with wounds wasn't a good combination. “Where....where am I?” God, his throat felt like it'd been rubbed with sandpaper then doused in vinegar, "I don't....remember much...." “Odaiba General Hospital,” She smirked brightly. What was she so happy about? Did she find anything amusing with how red his skin was or how ragged his breathing got? “You collapsed in front of my home.” Was that what happened? How embarrassing. Though she wasn't the kind of person to trust a stranger, he was bold and honest. It reminded her of herself, actually. Both teens nearly jumped in surprise and looked in opposite sides of the room. They didn't want to look at one another, "I’ll inform the doctor soon, please excuse me!” She bowed quickly before hurrying out of the room. Maybe he'd been watching too much manga recently, but he thought the girl was one of those quiet types who didn't do much talking. He was wrong. “For that I agree," The girl nodded, "Then do you have anything as proof to back up your statement?” “Yeah I have-” Ichika grasped his left arm, feeling nothing but bare skin and bandages. A single white blip heading straight towards the Academy and is intercepted by two other, one of which collides with it and gets diverted to Kisarazu city’s territory. The remaining blip circling around the other two suddenly shifts its path towards the other two, zipping straight into them and instantly disappears along with the other unknown blips. “They’re gone!” “Not quite yet, Orimura. Shortly after the blips disappeared we detected seismic fluctuations originating from Kisarazu… Aegis Two reported an explosion.” “Explosion? Murakumo, does that mean the city was…?” “Aegis One confirmed that the explosion occurred on an open area and the nearest infrastructure is well beyond the blast radius.” “I see… So the unknowns were destroyed in the blast?” “Actually, that wasn’t the end of it. This happened shortly after.” At the very spot where the three blips disappeared together, a single blip flashes very dimly, indicating a very weak radar signal was being emitted from the originator at the point of time. The dimly-flashing blip begins to inch away from the location, heading due south. As the instructors watch the blip’s staggering movement, an idea strikes Chifuyu’s mind. “Yamada, did we archive the unknown radar signatures from the attack few days ago?” “It’s in the records, yes. Why?” “Run a cross-reference. I have a feeling that some of these unknowns are the same as the ones present during then.” Without another word, Maya goes to the operator’s console and begins to bring up records of various radar signatures, projecting the archive onto the main screen as it compares each of the records with the lone blip. The instructors patiently wait as each record that’s being compared does not match with the unknown signal. beep—! One record matched. It is then pulled from the archive and projected as a separate window on the hologram screen. “The same signal that was in Ichihara alongside the rogue black IS…” Kaori raises her eyebrows at Chifuyu, who then puts her hand under her chin. “We sent Aegis One and Two to investigate the area that day. They found shallow footprints that were barely a third bigger than a typical teenager in their late teens and some armor fragments which we brought over to the Science block staff. According to them, it’s most likely some sort of titanium alloy but they couldn’t determine from the fragments what kind exactly…” Hearing Chifuyu’s explanation of the unknown unit brings Kaori to recall a separate investigation. “We lost the unknown’s signal shortly after so I sent Aegis Two to investigate the area where the explosion occurred. She reported mechanical remains littered the area.” “Mechanical…? You’re suggesting that these unknowns are autonomous units?” “It’s very likely that they were… including the one that survived.” And here the Academy suspects that the Minerva is an autonomous robot. __________________ "You cannot be bad at watching a movie. So please bear with my over conceptualizing. 4th blade is made from a metal experiment that gave it unique properties of absorbing energy, both kinetic and ambient. This causes the metal to barely flinch on impact and generate an extreme temperature of less than 100K. The metal is extremely hard, registering itself to be at least 10 times harder than diamond. However it is extremely brittle. The metal has very little flexibility and malleability to speak of. It also has a higher than normal density for a metal due to its closed molecular structure.

Diamons are equally spaced, fairly far and of a light material in pure carbon. What makes diamonds so strong is their uniform lattice like bonds which are themselves strong. The 4th metal is funky as it doesn't have this structure or any other structure. In fact, you can even say that the chemical bonds that hold them together are like a thin coat of glue. Looking at their structure is like looking at a giant atom unless you know where the crevices are. Never really covered crystal structures too much but that's as far as I know. EDIT: I guess it could. But for the most part it just sucks in most of energy based attacks. It also comes in handy to calm down oscillinium metal.
