I never realized that every time Penguin and Llama talk, it's Izaya and Shizuo.

I am beginning to think that Ono Daisuke & Kamiya Hiroshi have some sort of contractual obligation to work together as much as possible. They are in quite a few of the same shows and also host a radio show together. I heard they are good friends in real life too.

I know I'm a little late on this, but replacing that magnificent opening with a new one is disappointing. Not that I mind the new one, I just don't care about it one way or the other. That's pretty common, finding one I really liked was the rarity.

This fan art was too cute not to share (found on Tumblr, originally from Animedia)

While it was a small moment, for some reason I loved it when Shirokuma pretended to steal Penguin-san's candy smelt - only to say "Just kidding!" and give it back. It was totally in-character - and somehow, profoundly sums up why the balance in this series is so spot-on.

I loved both segments

I couldn't stop laughing at Polar Bear's ever changing outfits.

And poor Llama (but don't worry you are getting the ending song next week )

Looks like I am double posting but this is too cute not to share

This is a real panda riding as a passenger on a plane from China to Japan. Now just imagine this as Panda from Shirokuma Cafe. It looks like he's even got his bamboo.

I wish every harem ended the exact same way as the first segment of the latest Shirokuma Cafe episode. I didn't care much about the 2nd segment though.

Penguin goes for the Harem End!
Spoiler for ep31:

I was amazed how Llama can tell the Penkos apart though.

Oh I loved Llama's ending song...so catchy.

I am not sure if that was a good or bad end for Penguin

Although the 1st segment was best I enjoyed the second segment too, especially the gag about the women's bathroom line...it's so true.

I'm pretty sure that was Mamoru Miyano who played the porcupine who thanked the crowd at the end.

Someone mentioned he was in the episode on MAL, so yep I think it's him.

The great seiyuu cast for this anime keeps getting better.

edit: And speaking of seiyuu I just found this video of them. They actually have Handa, Sasako, and Rin Rin dolls

In episode 9 of Joshiraku the girl visit the zoo, and make a Shirokuma Café reference. Now, in this episode, inspired by the Penguin hero show, Pengin san suggests they do a Rakugo show, and on comes the Joshiraku colour scheme...

Is there some connection I don't know about? Makes me smile, anyway, since these two shows are my favourite comedy shows of the year.

Not being familiar with the other series, I missed the reference but I still really enjoyed the episode.

Finally we see something that Handa gets excited about besides cleaning.

I love all the characters, even the minor ones are endearing.

But for this ep my favorite moment was all the characters in the hammock & seeing Llama serving coffee on his back. The absurdity of it cracked me up.

I want to own this series, it needs a home video release in the R1 market.

Heh, seeing Llama serve coffe made me wonder how the cups got on his back. He's very skilled. (And asking myself that question reminded me of Sasako asking Pengin san how he gets on the chair. )

My favoutie of this show was this little exchange:

Panda: Why don't you deliver to the Zoo?
Shirokuma kun: It's a hassle.
Panda: Oh, I understand that very well.
Pengin-san: You really have an... honest relationship, don't you?

Or something like that. It perfectly sums up the trio.

Would someone be able to translate this site for me? Looks like the dates correspond to when I will be in Japan. I don't want to miss out but I am not sure what this is exactly.

I think it is something about Shirokuma Cafe event at Namco Namja Town starting from 22 November 2012 to 14 January 2013.

Looks like the full detail is still coming soon but I guess they are gonna make a cafe (terrace shop) or something.

I know I was watching it in Starbucks and dying at that scene. Perhaps watching Shirokuma in public is not such a good idea
