One can hope that the writers do something similar to this for the series finale, as it'd be epic if they did.

One thing I just noticed from looking through this month's Megami, Nanoha's shoes change when she goes into Exceed Mode from the flat-soled "trainers" look to something similar to Fate's heeled boots. Now if only she got rid of the twintails for her Barrier Jacket and changed into a single ponytail or even just had her hair loose...

Canon-wise, I can't see either of them killing anyone.

Oh? The way Fate prefers to take on the enemy in close combat suggests that any enemy she faces will receive a violent and bloody death by being cleaved in half by Bardiche.

Nanoha's combat style is ranged combat, which while equally powerful, is not quite as brutal as melee combat.

Thus, I came to the conclusion that if anyone is going to be doing the brutal killings, Fate's going to be the one to do it. Though you never know what Nanoha will do now, since she is pushed over the edge due to the loss of Vivio.

Hmm... If Chrono died, I suppose I could summon him as Archer. OC threaders know that I've classified Nanoha as Lancer (Excelion), Fate as (false) Assassin, Hayate as Caster, Subaru as Berserker (DUH). Lulu's momma is Rider, and that leaves Saber. I wonder who fits... And no not Signum...

I mean their personality. In terms of combat-style, both of them could be considered 'violent'.

I honestly can't see any of them killing. That role seems to fit their Lieutenants better.

Nah, Nanoha is Archer [Unlimited Beamspam Works ], Caro is Rider [Summon, Summon... OMG IT's BAHAMUT], Fate is Lancer [Bardich violent Scythe death], Shamal make a good caster, Vita/Subaru make great Berserkers, I'd use 6 as Assasin purely on her phasing abilities [Lieze twins as well] and finally Signum as Saber.

Avenger? Use Rein I in YnS mode for Godmode Hacked [dies too fast].

As people having said, it couldn't happen in Canon, either Fate nor Nanoha do kill; however, remember this is fanart, fandom-wise, that is White Devil we are talking about. It is not the first time fanartists set Nanoha to kill, in fact, the mistress of RH is always wanting to kill.
