Now if we can derive a high level programming language from this, it might be possible to have bio tech developer software soon. I wonder what the programming language could be called then... maybe GOD-PL => Genetic Object Data Programming Language
So you mean we can give ourselves whatever superpowers we want just be reprogramming our own DNA?

Also, we can fulfil our own fantasy of a zombie apocalypse by writing genetic worms!

I did not say you or me can. Do you own a microchip factory today? I could program an ASIC using a hardware programming language, but simply lack the hardware to turn it into something real.
So, essentially this programming language would be useless for anyone who doesn't own a DNA printer.

OnLive Creator Claims He Can Bring Ultrafast Wireless to Everyone, Seemingly
Violating Laws of Physics:

"Steve Perlman, founder of the cloud-based gaming-on-demand service OnLive,
claims to have discovered a new method of wireless communications that would
not only drastically outpace what we have now, but would actually disprove many
of the accepted rules of how wireless communications in general work."

By Delivering Qubits Alongside Classical Data, Researchers Move Toward Bringing Us a
Quantum Internet:

"Is this the beginning of the quantum Internet? UK researchers have shown that
quantum and classical data streams can be interwoven within traditional fiber optics
networks, enabling the distribution of quantum information to the home on existing
cable. That means quantum key distribution (QKD) can work alongside traditional,
classical data channels, a development that essentially lays the groundwork for a
quantum Internet that exists alongside the classical one we have now."

Considering how OnLive has been nothing but hot air up till now, I'm not inclined to believe him. If it was possible to do what he says, you can bet your ass the mobile network providers would be all over it, because all of them are hurting for spectrum. AT&T is planning to spend forty billion dollars to buy T-Mobile USA, just so they can re-purpose UMTS Band IV for their LTE rollout. If they could do that with the spectrum they have, they wouldn't be spending that kind of cash buying Deutsche Telekom's redheaded American stepchild.

Magnetic Microprocessors Could Enable the Most Efficient Computers Physically
Possible:

"Electron-free magnetic microprocessors would use 1 million times less energy per
flop than today’s computers, according to researchers at the University of
California-Berkeley. They would be so efficient, they would consume the least
amount of energy allowed by the second law of thermodynamics."

So it takes a lot of time to make a cloak to cover something really, reallly small. It is not practical for large scale use, but it is proven to work.

Not just that, in essence this cloak must be made of a material that is a perfect mirror (but more complex). In order to really hide objects with passive materials (materials that need no extra source of power), you'ld have to transform the light without any energy losses... this would be as close as you can get to a perpetuum mobile (so I have my doubts about this... it might cloak whats beneath it, but the light should at least appear darker or red-shifted or something like that - at least time-shifted though).

Now I don't know how new this news is but they have mind controled computers now...I wonder how long before this is applied to video games. Hell I can just picture game interface like in the movie The Matrix. A whole virtual world with your mind. Yea I know this scares a lot of people but think of all the things we can do with this technology...Ghost in the Shell anyone?

I bet it is based on technology leaked out from the Philadelphia Project.

Engineers Fly World's First 'Printed' Aircraft

"Engineers at the University of Southampton have designed and flown the
world's first 'printed' aircraft, which could revolutionise the economics of aircraft
design.

The SULSA (Southampton University Laser Sintered Aircraft) plane is an
unmanned air vehicle (UAV) whose entire structure has been printed, including
wings, integral control surfaces and access hatches. It was printed on an EOS
EOSINT P730 nylon laser sintering machine, which fabricates plastic or metal
objects, building up the item layer by layer."

I thought they were going to use solar antennas at first, but windows is just unexpected but very, very useful Might be very costly though.

Finally someone saw the light and made an LED bulb. Though I've been homebrewing LED bulbs for a few years now...

NASA launches Juno mission to Jupiter

"NASA on Friday launched the billion-dollar solar-powered spacecraft Juno on a
five-year journey to Jupiter aiming to discover what makes up the solar system's
biggest planet.

The unmanned satellite observatory was propelled into space aboard a 197-foot (
60-meter) tall Atlas V rocket, blasting off from the Cape Canaveral Air Force
Station in Florida at 12:25 pm (1625 GMT)."

NASA has stated that they are going to focus on things outside Earth orbit. Earth and near Earth (aside from maybe the Moon) will be up to the other countries and private industry to play around with. NASA is going outwards with their projects. Assuming they get the funding that is. (The stated goal of the Orion now is near Earth asteriods and Mars...with the chance of the Moon, if they need to go back there again. Also capable of docking with the station, but that's not one of their missions anymore.)

I however would like an idea to use the ISS as a construction platform to build a bigger station...since it has that large truss and multiple robotic arms. If the Shuttle can be used as a work platform with just one arm and cargo bay, the Station can be a larger one.
