I also noticed all the ailleure and Yuri fan like me have noticed after the LOL to say that there may be feelings of amitier + that frankly I would not even if it's true but it's funny that almost every time it is on Reika it will stick when it is afraid.

Episode 20 feels like one of the harder Akanbe fights.
Just like the Akanbe in the episode where Reika first transformed, the one in this episode needs some thinking on the part of the cures before it can be beaten.

Next week seems to be the final Red Nose.
I wonder if there would be new kinds of enemies, or maybe the joker just bring out more blue noses..

All Stars movies are generally released a month or two into each new season of Precure. It'll be a while before the next one comes out.
Series-specific movies are generally released somewhat late into a show's run.

The All Stars movie for Smile already aired this year, back in March or February or something. It's coming out on DVD pretty soon so we can get subs. I'm looking forward to it solely on the basis of the Noto Mamiko voiced movie exclusive character, Cure Echo, lol.

The new movie is the season specific movie which also comes out every year, I think. The new character is probably also a movie exclusive character. It seems kinda early though; if I remember the Heartcatch and Suite movies aired when, by episode count, the TV series were somewhere in their late 30s.

Spoiler for Wilhelm Grimm's Magical Girls 21 - Five Hearts As One: Does Not Contain Alicorns:

When things look too good to be true, they probably are. The importance of pegasi (really, that thing is an alicorn) are pretty clear, what with them being the motif of Princess Form, but the only actual horse to appear this week was Pop, demonstrating the Marchenland tradition. Tanabata is one of those things I like about anime. It's the sort of holiday that Western countries don't really have. All the wishes are pretty family friendly, of course. One of the more slice-of-lifey episodes, with more celebrations than conflicts... which should've been a sign.

Loved seeing the team use their five finisher attacks together. When combined, they're pretty powerful, and having them all earn the final Decor is a nice story touch. But "final" Decor, and we're only on episode 21. Something was bound to happen. Namely, Joker swooping in, kidnapping the Decor Decor, Candy, the last Decor itself, and jumping off to who knows where. Next week looks like more of that, with Joker pretty much curb stomping everybody. I want to see the team at their highest and their lowest, and this is just the arc to do it in.

Spoiler for Episode 21:

This episode feels rather short.. Well, but some plot development happened, so I'm not complaining. Pop is back because the decors are almost complete! Fight fight with a strong Akanbe, but with some extra determination they beat it as usual.

Now, comes the part where I get some disappointment. Why did Pop just put the Decor Decor out so casually on the table? That's some serious complacency there . If the decors are completed, the Queen revives so it's obvious the Bad End Kingdom won't let that happen easily.

On the bright side, not all the decors are stolen because Miyuki put one in the Tanabata tree - would probably matter a lot in the next episode. Also, the Joker seems like he would be fighting them now. Can't wait for the next episode.

Spoiler for Wilhelm Grimm's Magical Girls 22 - Cyclone: Joker Extreme:

This week felt very much like part two of a trilogy. It's more about getting somewhere than doing anything in and of itself. Miyuki and friends didn't do much beyond having a moment of self-doubt (and spawning the Despair Yayoi meme) and realizing they're going to need to bring their A Game against Joker - more on him in a moment.

This episode showed that Joker, while more content to stay on the sidelines and screw with people, lives up to his reputation as Pierre's right hand man. Didn't even break a sweat fighting the whole team, and shrugged off their combo attack from last week like it was nothing. After 22 weeks exactly, the big bad clown himself is finally revived... and will likely be pushed back the debut of Princess Form next week. So what are they going to do for the second half of the series?

My commentary on Princess Form will come a little later than usual due to upcoming events next weekend, but I still look forward to it. The clown had it coming.

Wow, episode 22 was fantastic. I mean, season finale fantastic. No, even better than your regular season finale. The mind-screw that the Joker delivered (true to his namesake) was really well done. The short but intense fight scene was good, but the powerless-ness that the girls were experiencing really seeped through.

And the resolutions! Wow, the music, acting, and direction was just spot on. When the girls came together to say their "The five lights that guide us to the future! Sparkle! Smile Precure!" just gave me goosebumps. I am getting seriously pumped up.


Honorable mention to Pop's seiyu and his acting.

I must say this episode was very intense and very awesome, so many emotions swirling from despair to knowing their love for Candy. This episode really hits home on why I love this series.
