Interesting first episode and I love time travel stories. It's also rather obvious who the laughing person was.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the potential harem aspect, can't Japan for once leave that concept alone?

Something stirred up my curiosity..Hachi / 8
-The red-haired girl was stabbed on the 8th Floor. -The conference took place on the 8th Floor. -The building itself has 8 floors. -The invention by Okarin is Number 8. -The satellite crushed the highest floor, which is the 8th one..

Just got around to watch it. OP suprassed all my expecations with the trippy visuals and fantastic music. And like someone pointed out before, Feiris gets a special focus in it compared to the other characters that are not Mayuri or Kurisu. Didn't like the ED so much.
Onto the actual content: Nice atmosphere, character design and surprising lack of BGM. Story seems hazy and confusing but that's natural when dealing with time travel and similar themes. There will be plenty of time to unwrap all the mysteries. |

Finally get to watch the unsubbed version of the TV video...
I will have to say the animation style is not bad. The somewhat changed character designs do not bother me too much. I am not going to comment on the story - I already know the story ahead of time, so I can follow the really fast first half of the episode. The second half of the episode slows down quite a bit. There are some minor changes from the original plot (some scenes are new). Spoiler for S;G ep 01:
Now is down to the pace and animation quality of the rest of series... |

Wow, of all the things that could have possibly gone wrong and turned me off this show pretty much none of them arose. I can also kind of see myself getting into these characters. All three of the main characters in this episode kind of seem like sketchbags, but potentially interesting sketch bags.
So anyway, apparently Rintaro sending the text to his fat otaku friend may have somehow saved Kurisu's life since apparently she was never actually there in the first place now. Though I'm left wondering what the deal with the satellite was. All for future episodes to explain I'm sure. |
