The stakes, when they stab into you XD

Really I was never a religious person, but my policy is keep thy religion to thyself. I don't mind what people believe in, so long they don't try to convert me. Believe me, it happens too much, by teachers, random people on the streets, classmates.

Getting back into topic, Beato is most likely just going to assign the stakes to the appropriate targets.

I'm still not entirely sure what the purpose of the seistas are, what did they do?

One of them is a shield while the other is a gun.

You got me wrong, I like the stakes as well XD

The siestas are likely to be based on the Winchester, the numbers 45 and 410 are the evidence
(.410 shell and 45 magnum)
Plus I think 410 is a maniac

Not like anyone would like to know more past the premises and such. as for some details Spoiler for Walgiria, Ronove, SOP, Siesta, End of EP3: Walgiria: it is actually unclear what is her side, or if the whole banquet in the end wasn't completely a treachery. From what I have seen thorough episode 3, Walgiria doesn't seem to be fooling around with Battler. Furthermore, her tips and Beatrice's memories at the start demonstrated that Walgiria is actually thinking that endless magic must be used for people's happiness. Therefore, I'm actually doubting if she is really betraying/deceiving Battler. At the end, it is possible that Beato made up "that walgiria" along with the other characters having fun at "the golden land". Hence, I wouldn't think it would be good to seal her "side" that early. Rovone: pretty much like I stated before, Ronove is actually difficult to gauge. Obviously, he probably knew about Beato's treachery plan, but it seems he is still quite the neutral or having his own agenda. Ronove has shown more hints of giving more possibilities for the "game" to go on, instead of letting Battler in the dark for a stalemate. I wouldn't think he is actually trying to help battler, but he is rather trying to make the game more interesting, regardless of the outcome/winner. SOP: They are most likely a mystify effect for the culprit, though of course, the "sins" are only judged by the practitioner themselves. As for the sisters, they might get retired should they continue to mess up. Siesta: It isn't exactly explained if they are indeed more servants for "beatrice" or only reserved to Eva-beatrice or a simple device used only in Beato's deceiving plan. Usually, the stakes are piercing the desired target during the plot in a normal fashion, which is decided by Beatrice/the culprit. So in the end, they are killing battler out of duty, but for their personal enjoyement, so it wouldn't exactly require any "sin" part, especially that it seems Battler should not be a legal target has he has his magical resistance. Therefore, it is all about a complete different type of "murder" for the SOP here. Spoiler for ep1~3: Sure I can understand why Jessica and Rudolf got lust, but what about Eva in ep1? Cuz she wanted some alone time with Hideyoshi? I still don't see why Nanjo is sloth instead of Kumazawa, and what is Kumazawa wanted that made her to be the target of Envy? Thus I think that either the person(s) comitting the murders knows alot about everyone's past (such as the whole Asumu/Kyrie thing in ep3), or it actually is just going by as is. __________________

That said, we are not sure if they actually plan the "sin" beforehand, what if they just have all the stakes ready and use right on the spot when it seems appropriate? Like... they are observing Eva and Hideyoshi, and they hear the... well "action" between them? It also seems that sins can be interpreted differently... For instance, sometimes, I feel that nanjo is rather trying to "lessen the possible troubles" hence possible laziness instead of prudence (example: when he says natsuhi doesn't lie etc in ep1). You can say that anyone can be subject of X or Y sin in some extent. As for Kumasawa, being crippled like she is, and being a servant for more than half of her life, one can "conclude" she might be envious towards youth and rich people... just a wild guess. Beelzebub: Well... because he committed the sin of gluttony. Beatrice: In which ways? Beelzebub: Uuh... he once stole a cookie from the cookie jar when he was six? Thus, the stakes are simply assigned to kill certain people, and it's up to them to find anything that could be interpreted as a sin. As I previously stated, the stakes can basically kill anyone they wish, and so the whole "how did they commit the sin they committed" thing doesn't really apply to anything. Everyone has committed every single sin in some way, shape or form. So, I agree with ClockWorkAngel, the whole "sin" thing is just a stylization of the Stakes (probably to make them moe-er), not really a limitation at all. That's the feeling I got, anyways.

Rias Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2003	On the topic of stakes, Spoiler for ep3: I wonder what's the reason that Nanjo and George didn't get the stake...there must be something that went on that made the murder deem that he/she doesn't have to follow the ritual anymore. Also, for some reason all the magic circles in ep3 are the same. Perhaps something to do with the servants/Maria being killed early...? __________________
